Hey all,Anyone know if the tunnels on the freeways actually go through the rock, or are just window dressing...been flying between the freeway sections on the high roads out of Honolulu into the mountains, and there are a few short tunnels..tempted :Clown:bestjake

I just suspected the tunnels are just window dressing. But I like them, and the new more detailed bridges in the game.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Haven't seen this myself yet, but they did model the flood control channels in PHNL with water in them. Some thought they were pothholes, LOL.

Honopu Beach aerocache..ooh haven't seen that yet..Thanks! Off I go...Been mostly doing boring missions lately in the Maule..Got back in the RV-6 tonight..I love that plane..I got all but two of the Maui waterfall aerocaches in it..Only crashed twice..Got a great method..just fly inverted down the waterfall, really close to the hill and roll out at the bottom..There's two or three you just can't get at like that..I think they'll need Helos..Or feet LOLIs the Beach one a beatch, so to speak? :Dbestjake

but go get the Honopu Beach aerocache...
This one was fun in the Icon. I landed on the water, dropped the gear, taxied up onto the beach, through the tunnel and back into the water on the other side. Here's the real one, I thought for a second the helo would try a fly though!

Be sure to take the Icon for the aerocache. There is room to fly it through but you will need nerves of steel. :) I succeeded on the 3rd try in the beta but in the release I landed in the water and taxied up the beach & through.

I've landed on the Pali Hwy and the H-3. The tunnels are just structures on the side of the mountain.Anyway, the H-3 tunnels would be difficult to fly through... they bend not only horizontally but also vertically, and are a mile long.

H-3 comes out on the Kaneohe side, near the world-famous Haiku Stairs, which are not there in the game...

You can't park inside any of the open airplane garages some airports have either. Even when the door is folded up and open, there's an invisible barrier keeping your prop from crossing the threshold into the garage.
