To be honest, I think Silent Wings is the best GA sim there is (even if it is not really a GA sim, but just an aspect of GA), rather than Flight, but I think Flight (DLC updates and content pending) certainly has the potential to be the best GA sim there is. It reminds me of efforts such as Flight Unlimited and Fly, both of which had great potential but were held down by the current versions of MSFS at the time. But right now, only older versions of FS and X-Plane are the really serious contenders, so Flight has a better chance of making it past the 'difficult birth' stage. If they sling some add-on ATC and stuff like that in there, Flight could turn out to be really great. That may of course not happen (I think it will), but the fact that at this stage it very well could, is why I think the reviewers out there who are currently slagging Flight off, are talking through their arses. Flight has massive potential.Al

FLIGHT is already the BEST GA simulator ever made available...the more I get covinced this is actually the best GA simulation platform I have ever used, and that includes about all of those you can name.... :-)
I think you make an astute observation - Flight looks to be really good for casual GA flying. Good win for the folks who have gravitated toward that end of the spectrum (Orbx, A cub, and good looking around). In this regard, the Stearman is probably the best aircraft for Flight right now - low, slow and plenty of room for getting your head on a swivel. In fact, anytime I bother to open up Flight, I notice that I go for the Stearman.

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

It is a simulator after all... if we try to.
It's not a systems simulator, like FSX or Black Shark, but it DOES simulate the way flying feels and looks. I'm especially happy about how hard it can be to spot unfamiliar fields from the air. Anyone who's tried to spot some small farm strip in real life knows how realistic this is. Hell, I've overflown some small airfields several times without seeing them until they were pointed out to me, and FLight simulates this!

if you call the loadmaster up, you can get a good Euchre game going! So I've heard...
This reminds me of many flights in various military cargo aircraft. We'd even have a game or two of Texas Hold-Em going on the floor of a C-17 or C-5!Hawaii%202008%20113.jpg

What is the greyish camouflage?

Hawaii!

Flight does a great job of capturing the open cockpit, low and slow feel...love it!

again - exactly! Flight does a good job of this - I couldn't locate one of the dirt strips outside Hilo from the air, so I started a flight there so I could takeoff and see where it was! Once I knew what I was looking for - dark strip, row of trees very close to side of strip - it was easier (but still difficult) to spot from the air. Not because it was poorly depicted, but because it realistically blended in with it's surroundings.

For some reason, when we transitioned from 130s to 141s, we didn't play as much...kinda lost that "little MAC" feel...

That was the ABU (Airman Battle Uniform) that the USAF used when I retired. (I think I wore mine a total of 10 days.) It's already been phased out for multicams or something like that. (I'm not sure if the ABU is still the standard issue or not, but multicams is what airmen are issued when deployed.)

Didn't now that multicams are being issued to all newbies, last time I heard about them few units were testing. And thank for the ID ;)

Hawaii!

A Glider would be a great addition :-)
As long as they put thermals in (and maybe even mountain waves) and tie the cumulus to them in some way. And make it an SLG - why not an Arcus?

That table is taking up valuable sleeping-bag space!

My thinking too.
