I Dare Saying...

Alaska is good news but apparently they plan to release just one new plane in the coming months which in my opinion is not enough.
Like Hawaii Pack, they will probably include other airplanes for sale separate of the pack.

For real ( I know... nite says it all :-) )? Condor? SW? FlightGear? FSX? Xplane?

Two nites ago I got a tow out of Santiago headed NE... all the while salivating like a proverbial dog when thinking about a glider for FLIGHT.

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

Emcee: Ladies and gentelmen welcome to the 1st Annual Simmie Awards honoring excelence in new developement in aviation simulation. The nomonies for best out of the box performance in a leading role are, MS FSX, X-Plane 10, and MS Flight. May I have the envelope please.(A hush falls over the audience as the emcee fumbles with the envelope.)Emcee: And the winner is.......MS FLIGHT!(Shocked and elated, MS Flight makes it way to the podium)Announcer: This is Flights' first nomination and win.Emcee: Congratulations! (Hands Simmie statue to Flight.)Flight: I want to thank all the team members who helped make this production possible. And most of all I want to thank all the fans old and new that remained open to new ideas and gave us the opportunity to make flying fun again.(Standing ovation with applause.)Flight: You like me, you really really like me. Thank you and good night.

You know what's interesting? This topic is about the very same software that got such a negative review from IGN (and which many agree with). Seems like Flight is a perfect example of a "love it or hate it" thing. All I know is that I'm also in love with the game. :)
The real problem with Flight is not that it gets things wrong... it doesn't, or at least, not many. The problem is that so much is simply missing. Hopefully, Flight will get fleshed out over the coming months. Yes, I said months. If it takes years to get Flight into a condition that the "hard-core" will even consider giving a fair chance, it may be too little, too late to keep development viable.
What worries me is Flight might get stuck due to lack of new content. Alaska is good news but apparently they plan to release just one new plane in the coming months which in my opinion is not enough.
I agree. If I'm honest I was hoping for one per week. Since there's no third party involvement, they should at least make up for that by regularly releasing content.I do agree with the OP, it is a great sim, but unfortunately for me I'm getting a bit bored of Hawaii and the four aircraft now.

if you call the loadmaster up, you can get a good Euchre game going! So I've heard...
i like Flight a lot but calling it the best simulator ever made available is a stretch. It may be the best for you and that's fine. Flight Unlimited 2 still holds that title for me. Happy flying
I loved FU2, too. I still have it (and FU3 and FU1) and it still holds up well even these days. Wish I still had a 4 meg Diamond Monster Voodoo to throw in one of my older computers! FU2 looked awesome with that card. The one thing FU2 had that Flight doesn't (yet) have is halfway decent ATC.Still, I must give Flight the edge for the sheer step up in realism (sans the visual aids, etc.).

I think there are many of us that are not one strong extreme or the other. While I am enjoying Flight alot flying around Hawaii in my Maule and RV6 in multiplayer, there are a lot of things missing that will limit the lasting appeal for me or the general gamer audience they are trying to capture (see the Eurogamer, IGN, SimHQ reviews).I really like the huge improvements MS made in the graphics, FME and lighting engine, and I want Flight to be successful long term, so I am very hopeful that Microsoft either does what is needed to crank out enhancements and DLC to fill in the voids (TIR, Autopilot, ATC, clouds, a dynamic career mode, ships, traffic) or opens it up for other 3PD to help so that this can be a success and not just a niche product a few of us enjoy.I am a hopeful supporter, but they're going to need to improve for it to succeed.

How do you know that is true? Did I miss something?

For real? Don't I wish... maybe next summer. Was in FSX. Island hopping a blast (some others have posted doing this).

It was said when they announced the Alaska pack. I don't actually remember where I read it, but it was surprising because it was just one plane.I hope they change their minds and release more planes soon.

Free mind, young attitude.

From the Flight website:

We're excited to announce some upcoming DLC: journey with us to Alaska, with over 1.5 million square kilometers (~600,000 square miles) of captivating scenery, new aircraft and additional missions! Check out the screenshots below for an advance look.
If my English dictionary is correct, "aircraft" is used both as singular and plural. But there's no "a" in front of it...

Tom

First of all i am Spanish and English is not my first language. No need to go to the dictionary and splash it in my face. You could have said instead. " maybe you misread it" or "I read it somewhere..."

Sorry, I didn't mean to insult you.

Thank you, and it seems that you misunderstood that aircraft can be plural, which I do not fault you for that (my native tongue is English, but I have language issues, so I amazed that people like you are can converse in more than one language). I try to keep up on Flight, and I was concerned that I might have miss some news about future aircraft.
