March 15, 201214 yr FLIGHT is already the BEST GA simulator ever made available...I Dare hope, MS follows the right track, and releases the DLCs everyone ever dreamed of...Maybe Thursday's Syndrome is affecting my neurons, or having read in the tips when Flight is loading - "You may need an amphibian or an helicopter to get to some aerocaches", having experienced the most convincing wind shifts/gusts available on a PC-based simulator..., but the fact is, the more I feel, the more I taste the sound, graphics, physics (including weather modelling...), and although not having the time to complete missions or follow aerocaches, the more I get covinced this is actually the best GA simulation platform I have ever used, and that includes about all of those you can name.... :-)Sorry for the "catharsis"... :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 15, 201214 yr glad you like it. count me in ;-) Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
March 15, 201214 yr Don't apologise, I feel the same way. Again tonight, I just flew from one airport, across an island to another very hard to spot strip. But this time tracking a Vor. 30 mins of pure flight, no ffwd, no map use. Since when have I done that? Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
March 15, 201214 yr Flight takes me back to Ye Olde Days of the pilot doing everything himself, with no in-cockpit navigation computers keeping track of his exact location via satellites and telling him which which way to go, flying the plane himself rather than pushing a few buttons and breaking out the Uno cards with the copilot and FE while the plane finds it's own way to the destination, and making the approach and landing himself, hands-on the whole time. And I likes it.Oh, and stay off my lawn, you dang kids! <grumble>
March 15, 201214 yr i like Flight a lot but calling it the best simulator ever made available is a stretch. It may be the best for you and that's fine. Flight Unlimited 2 still holds that title for me. Happy flying
March 15, 201214 yr and although not having the time to complete missions or follow aerocaches, the more I get covinced this is actually the best GA simulation platform I have ever usedIt certainly is pretty darn good!I do hope you can find some time, to do some of the challenges and missions. Some of the challenges are pretty short, like the landing ones, some others can get long - they can be a lot of fun though as well.Certainly a great core product is there now to build upon, we will see how MS progresses with it. March 15, 201214 yr The ATC in FU2 was owesome, as well as night sceneries, but otherwise Flight is the winner for me :) I have flown the RV 6 for first time yesterday during the intro mission and that under-bridge-and-through-canyon think took my breath... Hawaii!
March 15, 201214 yr Author A Glider would be a great addition :-)It's a biased oppinion, I know, but glider flying and altitude records in wave (I really don't believe FLIGHT's weather model will go that far...) are typical in Hawaii.i.e.: ;-)But it's true, and FLIGHT pretty much resembles Flight Unlimited 2 & 3. Flight Unlimited 2, and then 3 - I still have it installed, with the San Francisco Area from FU2 :-) - are great simulators, but, unfortunately, they stopped in time :-(Regarding ATC, I was so impressed with the ATC model introduced by ProPilot, that even though being great the one in FU2 and 3, I still think ProPilot had the most interesting, even if requiring further devlp, ATC system :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 15, 201214 yr FLIGHT is already the BEST GA simulator ever made available...Well I don't rightly know. But if you are wrong you are are still almost right. Anyone flying into a setting sun will have a goosebump experience guaranteed, or double your boredom back.Kind regards,
March 15, 201214 yr You know what's interesting? This topic is about the very same software that got such a negative review from IGN (and which many agree with). Seems like Flight is a perfect example of a "love it or hate it" thing. All I know is that I'm also in love with the game. :)
March 15, 201214 yr What worries me is Flight might get stuck due to lack of new content. Alaska is good news but apparently they plan to release just one new plane in the coming months which in my opinion is not enough. Free mind, young attitude.
March 15, 201214 yr Author There is so much to explore in the missions, aerocache hunting, or simple freeflight, that I don't really think it will get boring...;-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 15, 201214 yr A Glider would be a great addition :-)100% with you there jcomm.A glider (like the FSX DG808S) and the Hawaii scenery are a "natural fit".... Two nites ago I got a tow out of Santiago headed NE... all the while salivating like a proverbial dog when thinking about a glider for FLIGHT.Glider flight in the upcoming Alaska scenery would be "wonderful" too.
March 15, 201214 yr A Glider would be a great addition :-)It's a biased oppinion, I know, but glider flying and altitude records in wave (I really don't believe FLIGHT's weather model will go that far...) are typical in Hawaii.i.e.: ;-)In one of the missions in the Hawaii Pack, you land at an airport that has a bunch of empty gliders on it, similar to the helicopters you see in the game sitting on heli pads :) I wouldnt say they will be added for sure, but it seems reasonable that gliders will be added to the game!
