  1. I am no through with Flight - still a lot things to do there for me. Another plane would be great, and I am ready to pay the money.
  2. I understand your pain, that's for sure! On the other hand you have to add the pain of thousands soft-core simmers tearing their hair out and crying "Why, why did you do that to us?"
  3. Could you test it? It interests me quite a bit.
  4. Now that would be nice...
  5. I am a lawyer in Europe and I do not think you are right in this case. MS was never promising years of development - they offered a sim, completed two sceneries and number of aircraft, and stopped developing. I see that as perfectly legal. It is shame that people invested money in that, but that is the risk they are taking.
  6. Prepared an X-plane are too expensive for me, so I am going back to FSX. I am not looking forward to do that, but I am glad that I have that possibility. Other then that what you seem to be missing is that some people really enjoyed Flight - that is why they feel like leaving. and frankly I am not seeing any product that would give me what Flight did - though that is not the end of the world, obviously :) This is exactly what I was speaking about.
  7. I had that with all the planes I was using. I never bought VC-less airplane. Moreover I was speaking about a scenery, not about airplanes. It feels a bit like you really wanted to have a target ;)
  8. BTW Flight had one thing that was amazing for me: the prices of airplanes and sceneries were so low that I could have afforded them. Now saving for OrbX sceneries will be much more painful... samoe for airplanes. Well, what can I do :) the brighter side is that the South Island of NZ is one of my most favorite places.
  9. I guess I will not earn many kudos by this, but to be honest, the greatest disappointment for me was the community as whole. The rage against everything that didn't suit the "real simmers" (quote from above). The lack of understandment that Flight had priorities and that our wishes could have been grated in long run (as TIR was). Instead of supporting team of a wonderful, though narrow sim (no ATC, no damage model are the only real problems IMHO), there always was a barrage of nearly hateful comments everywhere. The best example is the Cub: everyone was craving about DLX plane, then they gave it to us, and on FB 9 of 10 posts were just raging. I understand that some things were let-down, but the bigger picture is that the "real-simmers" have the attitude of a spoiled child: I want everything, I want it now, and if I do not get it, then let no one has anything. I understand what many of you will not like what I said, but try to think about it for a while. In the end... thank you Flight Team for all your efforts and for providing me a wonderful sim, that made flying fun. And better luck next time ;)
  10. People are basically saying that they would be happier if only Maule was more expensive, and that makes little sense - in rational way. Instead of being happy about having at last another DLX plane, well modeled (well, not the GPS obviously) many people are now unhappy not because it would be expensive (it is quite cheap in comparison to similar products) but because it has the same price label as Maule - it is not true that Cub would not open anything, it opens the very same thing that Maule does, so the same price should be ok, rationally, what would you expect? It seems that we as community are far better in not buying things, then buying them even if it was only for showing support at a critical time. It is just shame...
  11. Well some good things DID actually happen - most people didnt have high hopes for TIR, as it catered only for HC simmers, yet it happened. And I too had a feeling that perhaps basic version of plane will be free and DX for extra money, so let us wait...
  12. In many of my Stearman challenges I experienced the same problem - silent motor on load, just to realize that no fuel was loaded. That's really a challenge :]
  13. I am still wondering (as I was when Zero was out) what are they trying to communicate. The only message that comes to my mind is "we want no simmers to play this game at any costs", which frankly doesnt make any sense to me.
  14. Ok, that makes me said. I do not think it is likely to have a cockpit. Maybe the plan is 3 basic aircraft for 1 deluxe? They would do better if they just communicate they intentions, this is a bit insane.
  15. Can you point to a game that is considered to be arcade and that has at the same time FM as convincing as flight? Other then that I understand why you are unhappy, of course - I haven't bought P-51 myself, as I am interested in learning to use the systems :)
  16. It's history is quite funny. BI, the developing studio, originally started the Operation Flashpoint series, then had to create a new one - ArmA. It's all about infantry warfare, but they included armor and airforce with basic level of simulation. Then they realized that they could enhance the level of simulation by concentrating on one subject only, which are the copters. So they made a new game, a spin-off: take-on helicopters. I am looking forward to see how much of the new FM will they be able to translate to ArmA III.
  17. Arwen: I second that.
  18. Fanatically devoted? Seriously? It's a game for goodness sake, I hope that anyone here is mature enough to see that ;) When I saw the first reviews of flight I wasn't going to download it. Then I heard a different point of view and I decided to give it a try. I bought the whole Hawaii soon after and boy I've had more fun then in any previous FS, though I am not sure exactly why. I have even started to learn new things, use checklists extensively, so in the end, Flight worked for me pretty well - and motivated to learn new things far more then previous sims (though to be honest, it could have been coincidence). BTW those XP pictures of Paris look AMAZING!
  19. One of the reasons of POSSIBLY higher sales of Mustang over Maule is that Mustang is far more fancy. Maule doesn't look that good.
  20. You mean Ohka? Now that would make landing challenges reaaally challenging :)
  21. Don't take it too seriously, please :) I understand what simmers want, they just sometimes make unnecessary fuss about it ;) I myself didn't buy Mustang and won't buy Zero. No cockpit, no interest. What I meant to say was that they moved consciously against the current, which makes no sense. The new people woulnd't mind if next plane was HC sim, there still were enough toys, but simmers on the other hand do care and are in very sensitive mood now, so it seems to me to be a very unwise decision, in political sense.BTW people sometimes wonder what is the purpose of Mustang / Zero when they do not allow you to carry out jobs - the answer is easy, they seem to be made to tackle with coin / hoop challenges, which kind of makes sense.
  22. Now this was a huge miss-step. Instead of appeasing whiners... err, I mean simmers (no pun intended, of course), they release a non-cockpit. What were they thinking? Are they trying really hard to push through a message to simmers?
  23. I have to say that for me as an European it doesn't strike me as weird. If it was the only military aircraft, maybe. But with Mustang being released first, it's kind of ok for me. If GB was released with Spitfire and then FW came out, it would be just the same for me.
