March 19, 201214 yr N1G, do you work for Laminar? Just wondering how official the above statement is.
March 19, 201214 yr N1G, do you work for Laminar? Just wondering how official the above statement is.LOL, of course not. I was being sarcastic in my first post just out of frustration. My second post was basically a plea to Laminar to rethink their customer service philosophy.I did not realize that my post might have been taken in that manner. Sorry!Bob Officially retired
March 19, 201214 yr My second post was basically a plea to Laminar to rethink their customer service philosophy. I could support that and actually welcome that - but we are dealing with Laminar.
March 19, 201214 yr Thanks for the clarification. I really wasn't sure.Interesting you thought that. No, they have a severe issue with their code and it appears it is not a simple fix I am sure. Some companies just operate in a void.BobI could support that and actually welcome that - but we are dealing with Laminar."but we are dealing with Laminar"So, because they are Laminar what does that mean exactly? They have chosen to be this way! You get more bees with honey.Bob Officially retired
March 19, 201214 yr No, they have a severe issue with their code and it appears it is not a simple fix I am sure. Some companies just operate in a void. That's what you believe. I think you blow this problem totally out of proportion. It is annoying, but nothing critical and only occurs under special situations. This lowers the problem of this bug significantly. I don't really think it is a general problem but they simply have totweak their settings. The problem: These tweaks might cause other problems, so such a fix takes time. At the moment there are several more urgent issues involved: The tools have to be improved, the features documented, layout bugs like the sometimes crazy road profile have to be fixed.I think all these bugs have simply a higher priority. March 23, 201214 yr So far XP10 was a lot of promises, without delivering on them really. Austin is a good talker, but even he is just cooking with water, like the rest of us. And just saying "Get used to it" is just rude and seems like they are looking down on people. Not very good Laminar. Oliver Donner
March 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member So far XP10 was a lot of promises, without delivering on them really. Austin is a good talker, but even he is just cooking with water, like the rest of us. And just saying "Get used to it" is just rude and seems like they are looking down on people. Not very good Laminar.Could you list a few of these promises you say Austin did not deliver on?Could you also provide a link to his "Get used to it" statement. I haven't seen that anywhere.Judging from your signature, it's a safe bet you have no interest in x plane anyway.
March 23, 201214 yr I am still keeping close track of the betas and find to my surprise that I am actually buying into the clouds less now than originally. It seems to me that in the quest to speed things up, some beauty has been lost. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. March 25, 201214 yr By the way, here are some real volumetric 3d clouds. There is some slight realism loss, but that's because the have been optimized all to heck and gone for speed. March 27, 201214 yr Try this. Set your distance in the weather to unlimited and then look at the clouds.Where's that setting exactly? Are you refering to view setting slider underneath CAT, HAVOC, etc.?The visibility of the horizon should be fixed but for now it means one of 2 things:1. Clouds are moving in2. The earth is flat.-lk
