Oh yeah! The good old CFM56-3 Jet Engines!

Hi all fellow FSX users, I just purchased the AWG Simulations Boeing 737 Classic product, and what a difference it makes! I tested it on the Wilco 737 PIC Evo, which has we all know doesn't have the best sounds in the world. This AWG Simulations product totally enhanced them and there is now a roar and a whine. They sound very good, although the start-up sequence could do with a minor improvement. I think it is well worth $11. I will be flying the Wilco 737 more just to hear those lovely engines.Website - http://awg-sim.businesscatalyst.com/boeing-737-classic.htmlWell worth it although installing the sounds to the aircraft requires some manual intervention but otherwise an excellent product at an affordable price and if you are a 737 fan you will like it.Does anyone else have thoughts on the product?Aaron G.

Curently away from home at the moment, working in Wales, but upon my return I will certainly be checking that out based on such an enthusiastic recommendation. I do have a few payware engine sets, and I know that they can add greatly to the realism, and of course a CFM 56 engine sound set would do for 737 Classics, NGs and indeed A320s, so it's probably a lot of bang for your buck!Al

The best part is the external sounds as they sound like an aircraft unlike the default 'hum' in the Wilco 737 VC.Aaron G.

Check out this one too: http://secure.simmar...t_5829%29.phtmlImpressive work. :(
The 737 CFM-7 engines sound much different from CFM-3s.I found the best soundset for my classic 737s were these: http://library.avsim....php?DLID=83351 by Emil Serafino. Unfortunately they're made for FS2004 so without FSX sound cones, but can still be used.

They are good but it is a shame they aren't up to FSX standards.Aaron G.

If you have the PMDG 737NGX why would you even think of flying another 737?

Because the NGX isn't the only 737 in the world and others can be as fun and even more. Personally, i find it far more entertaining flying a 737-200 than the 'NGX'. Different people, different tastes.

OK each to there own, fair point.

The NGX is a beauty, no question. But sometimes it's nice to fly something different. Some good old 737 classic flying for example.

I do like the 737 Classics. They were a workhorse long before the NGs came along! I will be sad when British Airways get rid of their few remaining Classics in favour of A319s.Great soundset by the way. I've always noticed how different the Classics sound to the NGs. The older ones sound much gruffer and have that distinctive 'howl' when the power is advanced. The new NGs sound almost identical to the A319/320 family and just whine like a hoover!
