March 17, 201214 yr Commercial Member I went and watched and photographed the practice for the Thunder Over Utah Air Show earlier today in St. George, Utah. Insanely cool scenery/terrain for something like this - I'm sure all the cliffs and mountains presented a planning challenge. The F-22 is an amazing aircraft - some of the stuff it did didn't even look aerodynamically possible, I was pretty blown away - first time seeing one.Pretty proud of this shot in particular: (just wish the weather had cooperated and given me blue sky instead of gray overcast!)Rest of the best shots here:https://www.dropbox....20Show?h=9e4b2f Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
March 17, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member This was actually a really old Canon D60 - one of their first generation DSLRs. Only 6MP but as everyone (I hope) knows, megapixels really don't mean anything, it's the sensor size and quality that really matters. This almost 10-year old camera kicks the crap out of basically any non-SLR point-and-shoot camera no matter how many MP it has. I want to get a new body soon - that new 5D Mark III looks amazing. The lens was the 100-400 4.5-5.6L IS USM - love that thing. (freaking heavy though!) (freaking heavy though!)Ryan, its true about the SLR's kicking on non-SLR's. I had a Canon 20D and then my brother gave me his 30D when he upgraded to the 5D Mark III which is a beast. I was extremely jelous but he is studing to be a profesional photog at college. Vey nice shot. The Angels blue colors really contrast to the red terrain in the background!EDIT: As far as the before practice goes, I always take the day off to head down to CYXX for the pracitces by all the jets before the airshow starts. In fact I like it better than the actual airshow. No music to drown out the sound of the jet roar. :( Mike Keigley
March 17, 201214 yr Seeing those picture makes me look forward to Seafair in August here in Seattle. The Blue Angles come so close to my house that I could take a similar pic from my roof with a 35mm lens on my Nikon!
