As a matter of fact, I have Flight set up to NOT log me into LIVE automatically when I launch Flight. Instead, after starting Flight I choose to sign in to LIVE just so I can get the daily Aerocache if I've a mind to fly it...

How do you do that Bill? Now I do not mind at all being signed into Live, but early on when some folks were posting issues about trying to run the game without signing in, I did some testing myself and found it to be extremely difficult. In fact, it frankly would not let me choose not to sign into Live, it would restart and then there it would be again with the sign on screen. It appeared that the only way to run it without signing in first, was to disconnect the internet connection prior to launching Flight, which imho is an unacceptable approach to accomplish this.

You can set automatic login to live on /off from the LIVE HUD display -> User -> Disable automatic login.Then every time you start flight you will do the manual login.Consider LIVE login as a 2 step process.1.- Login to online part of LIVE.2.- Login locally so that Flight loads your local user profile. That's my beef with it. It should work simply as stated , the way it says in the Flight manual. They need to correct that.Again it does not really pertain to me in my case, as I have no problem whatsoever being online with the Live program while flying, and would want to have access to everthing available while I am flying - but it not working the way they state it does in the manual , needs to be corrected for those users that do wish to do so.

If you press the home key, you should see a drop down for Live! In there you should see a few options including one called Messages. You don't see anything in there?Oh wait I just joined your game! hehe

It took me awhile to find that. I saw, I accepted. Something new learned. Prior to this afternoon, I've not really had time to check out MP at all...I find it's just a bit disturbing the way MP is working. I shouldn't be seen by anyone unless I explicitly set up a Host Session, and choose Public, Friends or Private for my option...BTW, I enjoyed the almost real-time chat, altough it's kind of tough to fly and type at the same time!

You do no have to host. You just have to set up your profile to allow friend, public, or keep it private.I have never had anyone join when set to private. N4GIX had at least 4 people join and leave his session while I was there, so he is definitely set to public.If you are connected to Live you are potentially hosting an MP game.You can hide the fact you are online by setting your Online Status to "Appear Offline"Now how do I attach a screenshot from my PC? :)

It seems that the Multiplayer Menu is for setting your multiplayer preferences, not for turning multiplayer on/off. Unlike other games, Flight is always "in" multiplayer. The Multiplayer Menu simply gives you control over who is allowed to join you uninvited (including nobody). Unless you choose to join somebody else's session, you are hosting.

Well then I guess that is good to know - I will have to go into the MP menu and make sure my preferences are set appropriately for my wishes, as I have no desire to participate in mutliplayer flying - whether hosting or just by knocking around the skies. I sure never realized that I was always in multiplayer by running the sim.Nothing against the fine folks of this forum understand - and there are a bunch of fine folks here - I really burned myself out on multiplayer back in my hard core racing days, and have not quite recovered from that - even though it has been a few years now. Of course I was Public. I had gone there earlier and changed it from Private to Public just to verify what was being said. I think it defaults to "Private" in any case, since I'd never even opened that menu previous to today, nor have I ever seen anyone else in my flight......now, how to get rid of the one who's logged in without being rude... :LMAO:

Sometimes, I just leave Flight running all through the night and day if I have a lot of people logged in rather than give them all the boot. Neither voice com nor text worked. I was texting with Kabronicus all along, but never saw or heard a word from you. I even took the time to find my headset and plug it in...
