The culprit is in the multiplayer setting.If you set it to Public anybody can join, whether you are doing a mission or not.The only workaround, if you want to fly solo, is to set your multiplayer setting to “Private”.Setting to Friends, will allow your friend to join which in my case is preferable, as I can fly a mission while my friends do something else.Don’t know if it is a bug or is “by design”

Really?I have never joined in or hosted a multiplayer session - so are you saying every time I launch Flight - yes it signs me in to Live of course - and pick a mission, job, challenge, aerocache hunt, or just free flight - that every flight I do there is a possiblity someone else might come along?Perhaps I am reading this wrong maybe, I have not quite finished my first cup of coffee yet...

Yes. There's even a hint about it. If you don't want people joining, go to the multiplayer screen and set it for Friends Only or Private.Hook

I think it defaults to 'Friends' mode, if memory serves. So if you've never changed it, then your own friends list could drop into your session, yes. If you set it to 'public', then absolutely anyone can drop in. Only 'private' prohibits anyone - in theory... although I set mine to private once when I was doing the photo shoot mission cuz it's a long one and someone already caused me to fail it near the end by dropping in and being annoying, and a friend was still able to join the session!
