I just purchased MS Earth's Hawaii. I will let you decide what you think...2642012_3_22_18_21_34_469.jpg

I've got that too and as far as photoreal scenery is concerned, if Horizon's UK looked half as good as Hawaii, I would re-install it. All 12 dvds! The main thing is Howard, what do YOU think?

Exactly the same as you Ron. I'm looking at getting some UK scenery. I have Just Flight VFR but not that happy with it. I think the way to go, although expensive, is to get the Horizon VFR photoscenery with UK2000Scenery small airports and then fill in with Earth simulations treescapes.

If you think Earth Simulations Treescapes will make a silk purse out of a sow's ear I'd be interested in the results. Frankly, I don't think it will.

Hmm, interesting Ron. I fear you may be right. It's just that I would love some scenery of Southern England so I can fly out of Bristol and do some small hops around scenery that I know. Flying in GA with GEX and UTX doesn't really do it for me. It's better than default sure, but a long way off being able to enjoy the familiar surroundings. I do have the Just Flight scenery and find the best value is in Wales, where there is not so much call for autogen. It is great for gliding in the Welsh mountains, around Snowdon, in fact it's superb! But of course, as we all know, come down to 1500' or so and it's all ** up!!

I also think the Horizon offering is kind of over color corrected, have you considered Tile proxy? It takes a little elbow grease, but the price is right. Here's a cool little site that lets you compare different mapping sites to find which is the best scenery source for your area of interest.http://geshout.com/mapscompare/all.phpYour shot is really nice Howard, are those autogen houses down there or are they in the photoscenery?Oh yeah, one more suggestion for Oahu. A very nice guy named Manny Malhotra made some free additional add-ons sceneries(available at Avsim) to complement Oahu, there's an airshow at the base and a surfing contest. Really nice little touches to make the island come alive(also Bill Womack's Dillingham fits right in there as well).

Great shot!

Almost looks like this scenery is out of a dream. Very vivid and lots of color. Great shot!

Sincerely,

Chase

Thanks for the info my friend, appreciated. As for autogen, sure, the island is photoscenery with the usual annotated autogen on top. But of course in amongst all the houses that you see in the pic there is a mixture of the 'base' photoscenery and actual autogen.
