March 25, 201214 yr Yeah, we can dream, or we can realize: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/367423-review-pfc-cirrus-saab-yoke-desktop-version/Goes hand in hands with the thread.
March 25, 201214 yr I've had this Saitek PF Yoke for 3 years. Works like a charm! For the price, I'd say I've enjoyed it greatly. With a caveat: The stickiness (as refereed to earlier) is somewhat irritating. Using a bit of graphite based lubricant has helped a bit, but there's a center "detent" that will agitate the picky folks. This is unavoidable with a spring centered yoke, and some mods have tried to correct the issue (they work well). For those newbies or non-tech savvy users, modding isn't an option and I suggest you not open the controller unless you want an expensive desk ornament. The Cessna version improves on this. I can promise that it's a better product and the best mid-level controller.Avoid: The CH Products yoke. I know a few CH only users will rake me over the coals, but I don't care. The CH Yoke looks cheap, feels cheap, and sounds cheap. Yes, it makes a cheap noise when used. I'm not kidding. Mine lasted a few years okay, but the mount was junk and the mechanism feels like it's made of the cheapest plastic available. This yoke does not do CH justice; their other products are great, including the very tough and precise CH Pro Pedals. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 25, 201214 yr I think PFC yoke definitely pays off, as it's sturdy, good quality, looks and feels great (nothing compared to holding a plastic yoke)I totally agree! Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
March 26, 201214 yr Author Nic,What is your budget? What is the most you would possibly spend? Keep in mind, in my opinion, the yoke is the single most immersive piece of hardware you can buy. There's no point in recommending anything until we know your budget.Aroun 100 EUR. I think I will go for Saitek. Thanks to all for your comments!Nic
March 26, 201214 yr I can't compair to the real world because the closest i've been is as an invited guest in the cockpit, but i can compare CH Yoke to Saitek Yoke as i just went to Saitek a few weeks ago and yes, the Saitek is definitely the better of the two. Rick Hobbs
March 26, 201214 yr Yes, you pay for what you get. But believe me, it's twice as good cuz I've had both. And it also comes with a seperate throttle quadrant by the way, which is btw also a little smoother. When I opened my Cessna yoke, looked totally different in the inside than the Pro Flight Yoke. Instead of just a spring, it's got a few big gears, with another spring wrapped around a thick axel of the gear, same for the elevator axis, it's all very well lubricated, and this new gear/spring system inside, makes it much smoother and less sticky/squeeky than the Pro Flight Yoke.Maybe you'll not regret it at first, but after a while the lubrication gets bad and the aileron axis will start to feel and sound squeeky. If you put a device in it without a power adapter it might short circuit itself. The Cessna Yoke does a much better job at this. Again, you pay for what you get. Thanks for your input on this, I was looking into getting this yoke, I don't really care if it says Cessna on it either, the other offerings are not a representation of an NG yoke anyways:) Tell me does it have more of a heavy feel to it? Im using the ch yoke right now and its just to much plastic.

Im using the ch yoke right now and its just to much plastic.Well of course it is made from plastic as well, but it feels much more durable and less plastically (although it's made from plastic too) than the Pro Flight Yoke. It feels slightly heavier. And the yoke is also slightly smaller than the Pro Flight Yoke, but is in a scale of 1:1 of the real Cessna Yoke. I've had it for about 6 months now and it has never let me down so far. It's extremely smooth and precise, and I've had zero problems with it. Arjen Vandervelde
