March 24, 201214 yr ...for the iPhone & iPad while on vacation in Tucson. My largest regret so far is all of the aerocaches of the day I'm missing. On a positive note, I'll be checking out the air museum again (or airplane graveyard as I and many others call it). March 24, 201214 yr Terrible. Just terrible. :)Check out "Infinite Flight" on the iOS. Awesome flight sim for the ipad/iphone
March 24, 201214 yr Author I did see Infinite Flight. I will have to take another look. I saw a lot of positive reviews saying it was better than X-Plane but to be honest they could have been developer plants because there were a few reviews that said the opposite. I get a little nervous about paid apps. Obviously I'm trying not to needlessly waste money. Thanks for the tip. Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
March 24, 201214 yr Check out "Infinite Flight" on the iOS. Awesome flight sim for the ipad/iphonehow would you compare it to the XPlane app? Sorry if this thread is going off topic...Jason - enjoy the boneyard! if you get a chance, the Sonoran Desert Museum (while not aviation related) is great, also!
March 25, 201214 yr Author Newthog, Unfortunately I can't look at look at that new sim Infinite Flight because I need iOS 5 which I don't have and I'm not willing to upgrade while I'm on the road. I've been holding off due to battery life issues related to iOS 5. Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
March 25, 201214 yr you scared me for a sec...when I saw the title then saw it was you that posted :LMAO:
March 26, 201214 yr Check out "Infinite Flight" on the iOS. Awesome flight sim for the ipad/iphonehow would you compare it to the XPlane app? Sorry if this thread is going off topic...Infinite Flight is much better than the X-Plane app in several regards-- and less so in others. The flight modeling is much better in my opinion-- not so "jumpy", and when you land there isn't the horrendous bounce effect. It's an option, but you can have the runways display a series of boxes that extend from the runway, which really helps to make the approach and landings easier. You can fly ILS approaches and flight plan. The graphics are better than XPlane in my opinion, and less cluttered. The menu is more intuitive. On the other side...Xplane does have more planes and scenery regions. However, the developers of Infinite Flight are quickly working to add more planes and regions (very active developers committed to the project). Sounds are better.Overall, Flight just seemed more fun to fly and easier to land. The plane models look much better. If you are sitting on the fence, I don't think you will be disappointed buying it (I think it was $5.00), and it will only get better. Here is a more formal review: http://aflightsimblo...00-for-ios.htmland a video of upcoming features:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBww2pOkPec&feature=player_embedded
March 26, 201214 yr thanks for the link Dig!I think, after reading the review, that I will wait until a demo is available. Not that $5 is a huge amount of money, but already having XPlane, will this be different enough to get played by me?
