Maule challenges depend on Hawaii DLC?

Featured Replies

Bought the Maule and don't have any landing challenges or clandistine mission. Since I didn't bought hawaii I'm wondering if that depends on that or do I need something to unlock them.

Hi amigo :-)Yes, although I didn't fly any of those challenges, they do become active when you buy the Hawaii DLC...

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Are you looking for clandestine missions or jobs? Try the airport Jobs Boards if you are looking in the Missions Menu.

Maule is for Long-Range flying around Hawaii. When you buy the Maule, there will be no missions challenge or jobs related to it just because most are linked to somewhere other than the "Big Island of Hawaii"

The landing challenges are locked to the other Hawaiian islands, but you can still do cargo and charter jobs with it on the Big Island. It's actually quite enjoyable and what I did for the week or so after I got the Maule before I was able to get the points together for the rest of Hawaii. I didn't see any clandestine cargo missions during that time, but admittedly I wasn't looking. They do pop up in the Jobs Board, not the missions list, so it seems possible that you can get them without the expansion. The Jobs Board is accessed through the map, just click on an airport and there will be a Jobs Board button at the top of the airport information on the right side of the screen for all of the airfields except Bellows.

If you buy the rest of the Islands, you can do the challanges.Beware of Landing Challange 4, it is "bugged", and difficult to nail it going for Gold. The clandestine missions might be available without the extra DLC, and then only available on small airstrips, not on big airports.

Bellows is closed permanently. It is not recommended to land there due to the large building in the middle of the runway intersection.

You are correct, although it is fun to land there and take a walk. Nice scenery. There is an achievement award if you land at all other Hawaii airports.<removed text by me>

Indeed. I've spent many a weekend on Bellows Beach. It's a military recreational facility now.

Thanks. If I only did level 8 (I think) in a month, rather wait for Alaska than buy the rest of the islands. She is a nice plane and the jobs are fun specially in the "among the giants" weather. However I believe that MS should put more information about what you get in each DLC.With the magnificent weather that I'm getting, all free time is for outdoors activities and don't have a lot of time for Flight. So the jobs are more than enough.

I think clandestine missions will only be available at night time, from the smallest airstrips.

If you do the jobs, you can set your own flight conditions. This means that you do not have to fly at night.

Clandestine missions can be done any time of day, and Yes, they are only available on small airstrips.Night missions give you extra points, but landing at airstrips can be a nightmare. Before you accept such mission, I suggest you read the destination from the job menu, exit, then place your aircraft at the destination and take a good look from the cockpit and from the top down view. Then go back to whatever airport you found the mission at, and start the mission.

Thanks for the correction, I've only done a handful and it was always night time. They only come up rarely and since being busted by the cops I've stopped doing them.

How bout you try flying low near water. Oh yeh, don't turn on any lights except the panel lights (Not to high or you'll get seen) That's how I evaded the cops. And DON'T fly higher than 1000 ft as they say.
