Some threads that take place just defy all sanity and sometimes logic. http://forum.avsim.n...40#entry2331940 Maybe it is just me. As to the Subject of your post: Not me, since I'm not interrested in MS Flight nor do I have the time to scan the MS Flight forum. But in a moment of weakness, and triggered by this thread in the FSX ?? forum, I got curious. I'll refrain from commenting to it, other then: - Why refer to this Flight thread, as this is the FSX forum ? - Why replying in that thread with "This reminds me somewhat of the Obama health care mandate battle" ? The relevance w.r.t. FSX beats me ....On both counts ... Regards, Rob PS: No need to reply .. I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say ... :Nail Biting: And Sorry, I couldn't resist ... :Just Kidding:

Reading between the lines is not even helping me understand your post. Regards Bob Hi Bob, I had hoped my statement "The relevance w.r.t. FSX beats me .... " was clear enough by itself. As illustrated by the two questions in my reply. Obviously it wasn't ... But: - Since I never run away from a good discussion. - I probably agree 100% with the content of your original post. - But I do feel it's the wrong forum to discuss it .... ... I gladly invite you to discuss it via PM. For the same reason ("wrong forum"), I'll try to explain via PM why I feel your signature is inappropriate in the FSX forum. Not that I disagree (in fact: I do agree) with it's contents, but why I feel it shouldn't be used in a Flightsim forum. Best Regards, Rob

April 11, 201214 yr To me it's clear that the poster of that thread is new and just doesn't know what PMDG is - if he had known, he wouldn't have compared it to POSKY. I don't think that's a reason to start laughing at him, it's an invitation to point him at the standards of PMDG and show him that he is wrong, like Al (Chock) did for example. To be honest, I do welcome people that challenge developers. I see it as a problem that once developers start having success, the majority of people starts taking them for granted ("Oh come on, it's <dev name here>, of course it's correct!") - taking developers for granted is generally not a good thing; it may lead to the developers taking us for granted, which is the last thing a customer wants ("Oh well, they will buy it anyway because it has our logo on it"). Mind you, this is something that is true for pretty much every situation, also for example politics. I don't mean to say that PMDG consists of a bunch of crooks - not at all! PMDG has been one of the most trustworthy companies to date me thinks, delivering ever better products with each new release, and I don't see that trend going down any time soon (fortunately). In the end, whether the poster is wrong or not seems irrelevant to me. Now at least he knows and hopefully understands why PMDG is the better of the two and on what kind of expertise PMDG's FDE is based. Best Regards, Rob Rob, The post was entertaining and funny in many respects IMO, and I thought that there might be others here who might enjoy it for the sake of humor only. I found this humorous not because of the UFO itself, but because it seemed to gather more attention than an actual discussion of what most might think as being relevant to MS Flight. It reminded me somewhat of me playing with a laser pointer and watching my dog chase the little red dot on the wall. I honestly could not believe that this UFO brought so much attention. Some of the posts delivered an honest to goodness chuckle and I just wanted to share this with my friends on the forum. Nothing less nothing more. As far as my signature, well again, those statements have allowed you to tell me what you feel. You have the freedom to do so. Again, as I have said in another post, if I am asked to remove those statements I will , as I respect the authority and the rights of private business to do what they feel is best for their business as long as it does not infringe on anyone's personal freedoms, which by the way have been provided to us by the brave men and women of the armed forces who have given the ultimate sacrifice. I do not feel the need for this to be a PM conversation. If you have something to say, I have no issues whatsoever with you speaking your mind. Kind Regards Bob Officially retired

Kind Regards Bob Hi Bob, I'm already sorry I reacted at all. I usually limit myself to replying to pure technical posts, but I was in a rather grumpy mood last night ^_^ Because I know misunderstandings easily arise with written text, especially when emotions may come into it. And allthough everyone is free to give his opinion within the rules of these forums, that doesn't mean one actually has to express it. That's my own motto, and I should have acted accordingly. :Big Grin: So there's no point in me reacting the way I did; if one feels something doesn't belong in this forum, there's no point in expressing that. That's why we have moderators. So, please forget my replies..... Best, Rob

I do really feel you have something going on with what is in my signature, and I am a little concerned. We stand tall at many soldiers funerals just to show respect and to honor a fallen hero. We do not say anything. We are just there to stand tall. I also have had the opportunity to meet many people who blame the military for their son or daughters death, and I am very very sensitive to this. If you are one of those, then I certainly understand your feelings and respect that with all of my heart. I love my country and I hope that one day, war will not be necessary. But in the meantime, I will honor those who have given their life for their country. This is who I am and I will not change, but I also respect others who do not feel the way I do.
