May 1, 201214 yr I just bought the EVGA Geforce GTX 580 and had a fresh install of fsx with no addons and wanted to run the FSMark11 Test. I went ahead and did, and my results are as follows  CPU: Intel [email protected] HT Off Ram 4x2GB 1333Mhz (9-9-9-24-2T) GPU EVGA Geforce GTX 580 SDD 128GB Gaming MLC Solid State  Test Frames Time Min Max Avg 2 10216 300000 23 40 34.053 3 10137 300000 22 41 33.790 4 10081 300000 22 40 33.603  I was comparing my results with simliar systems as posted on Word Not Allowed's Hardware setup for the FSMark11 Results and mine just don't seem to matchup with the hardware I have.  Does anyone have any ideas? I am averaging 33-34 with no addons or anything and followed the FSMark11 step by step. Cant imagine what performance is going to be like with REX and the NGX installed. Regards,  Aaron Â
May 1, 201214 yr Author I just ran my clean cfg file through bojotes tool as described in the instructions for the FSMark11 test. After I ran his tool, a reject threshold was placed in the bufferpools section of my cfg. I don't have a FFTF in my cfg right now as in wasn't put in after running the bojote tweak. I am averaging 34.8 frames on the test. running a stable overclock of 4.8 on my 2600k system and a 580 gtx. my ram is Corsair CL9 (9-9-9-24-2T). Regards, Â Aaron Â
May 1, 201214 yr Hummm, something wrong here. With that machine you should be hitting well over 40fps, somewhere in area about 45fps or abouts. You RAM isn't the fastest, but that shouldn't be limiting you THAT much.  Would you please run the SuperPi 1M measurement? Link  After that, run the Passmark GPU test - you have 30days test period, so you can run it. Compare to the Passmark Results.
May 1, 201214 yr You don't have an nvidia inspector profile active do you? It's been a while but I think we're supposed to run without nvidia profiles for the test... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |  Â
May 1, 201214 yr Author Word Not Allowed, I am running those now. I have completely rebuilt my system based on your guide and my price range hahahaha. Looking forward to getting it maximized! Ryan, I don't. I made sure of that but yes that is a very good point! Regards, Â Aaron Â
May 1, 201214 yr What about monitor resolution? I realize modern day GPU's shouldn't have trouble with high res but it may be a factor. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |  Â
May 1, 201214 yr I would guess, if he followed the FSXMark11 tutorial, that he didn't miss the correct resolution mentioned in the manual.
May 1, 201214 yr Author Word Not Allowed, I have listed my results from both tests.  SuperPi 1M measurement Results:   Passmark rating  Yes, I followed the steps as outlined in the PDF and had my monitor at a resolution of 1680x1050x32. Regards,  Aaron Â
May 1, 201214 yr I would guess, if he followed the FSXMark11 tutorial, that he didn't miss the correct resolution mentioned in the manual.  Hmmm I think I might have though lol! Does it say set it to native resolution? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |  Â
May 1, 201214 yr Nope, says a specific resolution. Â Aaron, your results seem fine. Make sure once again that you set everything as it says, that you ran the FSX clean - all 4 custom folders on the C drive manually deleted. It has to be clean. Of course, SP1+SP2 installed.
May 1, 201214 yr Author I installed fsx on a solid-state drive. I utilized the PMDG reinstall procedure because FSX with the only program on my solid-state drive I went ahead and formatted my solid-state drive Windows operates on my regular hard drive. I also deleted the necessary files in the roaming and local folders I went ahead and uninstalled each one by one and then finally uninstalling FSX acceleration and finally FSX itself. From there, I had reinstalled FSX on my solid-state drive and now this is where we are at. With service pack one and service pack two installed. Regards, Â Aaron Â
May 2, 201214 yr Author Ok this is interesting...I had purchased a new monitor and hooked up the old one to see if there is any sort of issue of it being with my monitor. However...I was still getting the same frames...Here is where it gets interesting. I hooked up dual monitors on my 580. The asus on the left and a hannspree monitor on the right. I went into settings and tried to make a cockpit with both in fsx. Still the same frames. I then went ahead and hit duplicate screens..so both show the same image and it is averaged 45 for a bit then went back down after switching to one monitor. I tried it again to go back to duplicaing it and the frames seemed to average 30...hmmm maybe i have an issue with my gpu setup. Â I dont know..maybe it was a fluke, can't seem to replicate it. Regards, Â Aaron Â
May 2, 201214 yr For the correct test with FSXMark11 do unhook your 2nd display and use only one display with the right resolution.
