May 2, 200422 yr Here here! Well said. I'm afraid I just allowed my gut impressions to express themselves, which I am inclined to do every once in a while. On the other hand, you have to admit there are some qualities about this service that almost sound too good to be true. Think about it: literally 100's of thousands of people on the planet who know and understand PCs and graphics systems really really well. Now this service comes along and seems to be one of a kind for starters--never heard of this sort of thing except in very general terms as in basic PC maintanence. And they have virtually not one testimony against them that I have read. And they see to be able to help everyone in very very significant ways. Now, bundle this up on a product where there is virtually no mention of specific ingredients--no one will really say a thing out of loyalty to the service and its right to its own intellectual property. You have to admit, these are the very same qualities you find in snake oil, no?I don't believe this is snake oil. It's too compelling to believe, the testimony that is. But my first reaction was to see the parallels to snake oil. Please forgive if I have insulted you. If I find $60 to spend, and 4 hours to spend, I may just check it out myself. It DOES pique my curiosity.Cheers Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. May 2, 200422 yr Hey Arajaq. Well said again. Just wanted to add. One of the MAIN reasons that this takes awhile..is in addition to going through your whole system....in some cases you have to undo stuff you did to your system based on not so good advice. IE; If you'll just tweak this....etc. As i've said before; not only does flightsim run smooth...but I also have a very stable a smooth running system. I haven't had a system lock up since I used the FS-GS service. Before, several times a month....and yes I defragged, virus etc. So, finally as Ara has said, if you want to try the service...FINE go for it! If your a computer guru expert, as so many of you are here it seems...AWESOME!! more power to ya. Enjoy flightsim. But, don't hammer us; because WE USED the service...and GOT COMPLETE SATISFACTION It's your choice not too, just as it was our choice to use it. AS we have said numerous times....how many that have used FS-GS have posted their DISSATISFACTION? How many folks here, jumping on us...have actualy tried to contact FS-GS and ask your questions and express concerns. I know your waiting Ryan, sometimes it does take a little bit of time to get things set up. Have to get a slot for ya...believe it or not...these guys are very busy.Fly Safe. Have FunBest,Dave
May 2, 200422 yr Though I have followed this service since I first learned of it a few months ago I have not tried it for reasons I won't go into in this post. But I do hold a curiosity about the folks who believe this service is snake oil... I wonder how many of them will spend hundreds of dollars upgrading their hardware and gawd knows how many hours then tweaking it rather than spend $60.00 and 3-5 hours having their current system properly configured by FS-GS?Just a thought...Greg
May 2, 200422 yr This service certainly is not snake-oil. If anything is snake-oil, it's the various "tweaks" that pop up all over the net from time to time. Some of them are very useful but many of them are complete nonsense..."I wonder how many of them will spend hundreds of dollars upgrading their hardware and gawd knows how many hours then tweaking it rather than spend $60.00 and 3-5 hours having their current system properly configured by FS-GS?"There comes a point however, when you *need* to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade. These guys can not turn your old 1.2 GHz system with a Geforce3 into a powerhouse. By saying "Don't upgrade your computer. Use the FSGS service instead!", you make it seem as if FS-GS is an alternative to upgrading. It may be, in cases where the client's computer has some big bottleneck or problem that causes low performance, but that can't be the case every time.I'm very happy with the performance of my 1.5+-year old system. There are scenarious where it struggles (complex addons, weather, AI etc.) - not because it's somehow incorrectly configured, but because it's simply showing its age. -

On the other hand, you have to admit>there are some qualities about this service that almost sound>too good to be true. Not arguing that at all. As I've said many times, I too was reserved and skeptical about it and had to check my ego at the door to try it. I'm the one all my family and friends (and friends of friends) comes to for computer advice and help. I spent the first 30 minutes thinking, "I'll try it out but they're not going to be able to help ME. MY situation is too different than beginners setups and I already know all the FS9.CFG tricks, system tricks, etc.">Please forgive if I have insulted you.Except for the guy after you, I don't believe posts like this intend to insult us, they just end up doing that as a by-product of being skeptical of the service. No problem.
May 2, 200422 yr >There comes a point however, when you *need* to spend hundreds>of dollars to upgrade. These guys can not turn your old 1.2>GHz system with a Geforce3 into a powerhouse. By saying "Don't>upgrade your computer. Use the FSGS service instead!", youI think we'd all agree with that. What is clear from my experience is that FS-GS will consult with each person before they even get started to find out what their system make-up is and what they expect. FS-GS will then tell you flat out if they believe they can get you there or if you're dreaming. They know, fairly well, what the minimums are to get FS9 running smoothly and certainly they like to see better hardware to help you get there. But I would generally say that if you have a system that is on the border, they will likely be able to bump you just enough to get you to where you'll find the experience acceptable again. In my case, I could have overcome a couple of my issues by throwing tomorrow's hardware at it, but I'm just glad the bill was $70 instead of several hundred or more. The part I'm really confused about is this view that the money they charge is a lot of money.Just doesn't make any sense. With me, in total now, they're lucky if they've made minimum wage on me and even if all they spend is 4 hours, that's not a lot for a consultant. Plus, most of us spend that on add-ons that often end up not being used a few weeks later!
May 2, 200422 yr $60 or whatever they charge is not a lot. Professional consultants almost charge that much PER HOUR, while this company give you 4-6 hours of consulting.I'm almost certain that I'm already getting the best performance I can from my system. I'm running the old "T-Bred" AthlonXP 2400+ and a Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB, both over 1.5 years old, and I still don't suffer from any real stuttering or poor performance even with some detailed addons. Of course it's not totally fluid at KORD with full traffic, complex weather and PAI but I doubt there's anything other than a new CPU+RAM and videocard that can achieve that. But if they don't charge anything for just looking at the system to see if there's anything they can do maybe I should give it a go, despite being a Java/VB prorammer and still remembering what " LOAD "*",8,1 " means :) -

Yeah, okay.Say whatever you want. I guess you are entitled to your opinion, even if I am not.I think paying $60 for a phone call for someone to tell me what to do is not worth it. Whenever I wanted to learn how to do something computer related I went out and learned, either by trial and error or by just asking questions to friends/family in the industry. It worked for me, amy not work for others but it did in my case. The Alienware comment was not meant to be offensive. We did just what I said we did. Not my opinion, fact by personal experience. SOme don't have the time and/or experience to do it. Fine. If they have the money to spend on an Alienware and it makes them happy then they can be my guest and buy one. I could care less. You really should spend more time learning to control yourself. You calling me kid was a good laugh, especially since you spent a predominant amount time throughout your response losing your temper. And BTW, I build custom computers for gaming and business for a living. Next time, please do not assume that the person you are responding to has no knowledge of the discussion in question (if that is in fact what you meant). My apologies if you took offense to my post, however, AT NO TIME did I call people names or insult them like you just did to me. You don't know me, you don't know anything about me. So cease and desist with any comments directed at me personally.Try to control your emotions a little bit better. We are all entitled to our opinions, at least I guess you are since all I post is "unwelcome, insulting, derogatory, insecure drivel", right?I'll be sure to ask a few of my clients in a few weeks what they think of my "drivel." May 9, 200422 yr Commercial Member Something is apparently wrong with either mine or their email or both because I don't think messages are getting through. I was contacted by Michael, but stupid AOL thought it was spam and it sat in the spam folder for a few days before I noticed it - I pulled it out of there, told the program it wasn't spam, and sent a big email back to Michael - either it never got to him, or his reply never got to me, because I haven't recieved anything back. I've got final exams over the next few days, so I'll probably email again middle of this week... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
