What i get annoyed with is when I post a thread on the Aerosoft forum, I get a reply suggesting an FSX repair may help, as though I am the only person ever to have this problem?

I don't know, Howard. I can see it too, but only due to your HU on the case. Seems I did not give much on the installer's error message and I also never started a mission, so the error is there but remained undetected.

But I had to chuckle on the repair FSX answer. It's true in some way, it may help. But you don't change your car if the ash-tray is full, right? Although I would. :Liar: However, it came with good intentions I guess, though the dev just offering the edited file or the script for the customers needing it would have helped even more.

I once went from Australia to NZ with that ship, which took some time. That endurance of hers is just amazing since the way back was in reach without refuelling.

You can say that gain, Howard. Look how long we have been waiting for that update/expansion/whatever to their AirbusX. I've given up now on that and will await the FSL output.

Whether they do or not does not change the simple fact that it errors out modifying a flight sim file.. and in the end messes it up. its much smaller than my orignal xml file.. and the only other program to mess with the file was Aerosoft Manhattan. thankfully when it did .. it made a backup.. which saved my xml file. If they are going to mess with integral FS files.. then it should be done right, if not initially, at least with a patch and a fix for the file, and not shrugged off after a year of reports. In my Humble Opinion of course.

Just purchased and the very first error I see refers to that Missions missing file. Great.

 

Still, managed to install it and take it for a quick spin. Overall, pleased with the buy despite that missing file error.

I'm pretty sure there is just one mission that comes with the plane. No one has said otherwise nor have I read otherwise.

 

There is a 3rd party mission pack made for the Catalina X but it's not very good supposedly.

 

I've been using this plane a bunch lately and haven't noticed any problems. I even played and finished the single mission it comes with sans issue.
