Hi,

Actually if you check this thread:

http://forum.avsim.n...one-try-it-yet/

there is diverse feedback on performance. Generally speaking from feedback I have got is that is at par with other Mega airports. KMIA is a mega airport and there isn't any other in the area (Florida) as big as KMIA, and the others made by other developers are not even half in size. So it takes a toll on certain systems. Though it wouldn't be fair to compare with other developers KFLL or KTPA (though some people say its on the same league of FPS) since they are much smaller.

My answer was based on your specs. You will find that you will have to lower AI and car traffic to zero in order to increase performance. Even if you have a system like mine, you will have to lower your settings.

But, the airport, for me, it was a must have. I'm enjoying it very much.

Remeber if you are runnign FSDT KFLL too disable it when you do fly into Miami, as the two Airport are very, very close.

She is kinda heavy. Even with my new system; i7 2600k stock , but well worth it. It is easier than FlyTampa for me but still not a sideshow. It is all relative though. I don't notice anything above 25fps to be honest and I don't drop below that at either with my settings for autogen dense and very dense. That is with airliners though, for ga aircraft I can crank it all to almost max and still have smooth flights.

Not necessary at all.

FSDT's KFLL wont load until you are 10nm from it. KMIA is farther from KFLL than 10 miles. Even if you are comming from the north and over KFLL, it will be unloaded before you close enough to KMIA to even make a difference.

Hi guys

Yeah it's a little heavy on FPS but flyable.

As an example on my rig, flying into KMIA's easterly facing runways 9, 8L, 8R, with AI turned to 100% and in the NGX I am around 20 to 25 FPS most of the way in, and sometimes in the high teens once I land. I have noticed something weird, when I am on runway 30 for some reason I sometimes get FPS as low as 15 and thats even with AI turned off. I've been slowing going thru all the bgls, opening them with an editor to see what objects they contain, then disabling them to see if I can pin point what is causing some of the FPS hit. I also opened the AFCAD that comes with the scenery and deleted a bunch of default FSX ground objects like cars, trucks, cargo palettes, etc. Getting rig of those objects helped a lot.

I've been meaning to talk to Ricardo about this and see if I can work with him to pin point what might be causing the FPS hit. I noticed the scenery also takes a bit longer to load the textures in the terminals when compared to other large airports I have like KLAX, KDFW, etc. I have a feeling that there is one or two files that I haven't stumbled across yet that once disabled will help the FPS. There is also a guide on their forum which outlines some files you can turn off to improve performance.

All in all, if you turn some stuff off you can get FPS in the 20's for the most part and the airport scenery wise looks good.

I installed this airport when it was first released. Although it looks quite good, it's probably the slowest performing airport on my system. If you find the magic bullet, please let us know. By the way, is it permissible to share AFCAD modifications from a third-party developer? I'd like to reduce the ground objects also if it improves performance.
