May 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi guys, Now I will give you my left leg in the post to anyone who has posted this question before, and it is a very niche question so I almost don't expect a response. [still hoping though]. Basically I am a musician, and I am going to be purchasing some monitor speakers [basically the very large speakers you see in recording studios]. Would FSX sound good through these, or, because normal speakers colour the sound, they will not actually sound good at all. Question 2) Does any body use guitar/mic processors [uSB/MIDI Interfaces] with their desktops? Will running the sound through that sound better than your standard sound card! Cheers gents! May 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hey Alex, I've played in bands (guitar) all my life and have a home studio that is connected to my FS Pc. Personally I don't think using monitors is a good idea for flightsim, best to get dedicated speakers and a good subwoofer. Sound in FS is more important to me then visuals, my house in London is detached so I bought the logitech z5500 (thinks that's the name) they don't make them anymore but you could probably find them on ebay. I can't even begin to describe the sound, the subwoofer was so big I used it as a pedestal for my throttle and charts. for music it's pure genius. For flightsim it's the closest I've got to feeling the raw power of setting take off thrust. I'm not exaggerating they are that good. Dont know why they stopped making them. I paid to have them shipped to my apartment in Bahrain but haven't risked cranking them up since I have neighbours, I still have them pretty loud and the low end rumble still works at low levels. Regards Rob Prest

Regards Thats about £500 worth of speaker right there! I will one day for sure. My plan, and I am looking for advice. I am wanting these babies: http://www.gak.co.uk...CFWwntAodcg3D0Q So the solution. I have 2 creative speakers at the moment, I love them. So I am going to continue using them and my headset through my asus sound card. For everything music related [music production/composition], I am going to put the input and output through the usb audio interface and monitors. Which is a Roland Quad-Capture Cheers Rob, Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
May 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member Those speakers look nice. If you do make a purchase let me know how you get on. Cheers Rob Prest
May 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member Alex, I do all my simming with my Beyerdynamic DT770 studio reference monitor headphones. They're not quite full-size monitor speakers, but they're very close to neutral. The NGX's sounds were created on a professional system using monitors - so monitors would probably be the best possible sound actually, provided you have full range frequency response out of them (usually requires the main monitors plus a subwoofer). I have a Pro Tools interface myself, but I don't use it for game sound output - I use my Asus Xonar DX card for that. Cheers Its looking very likely, so I will keep you updated man Alex, I do all my simming with my Beyerdynamic DT770 studio reference monitor headphones. Ok cool, I am thinking of keeping my creative speakers, and have the krk's monitors as well. Speakers coming from the asus xense, and the monitors from the USB Audio interface! May 6, 201214 yr Hi Alex I all ready have them, I have had them for about 6 years they are great for what yu want to do with them the price was not bad either, they are not sold with all 5 speakers you have to buy the extra two separate, I use line6 ux-2 to get the guitar into the computer not expensive and you just set the sound driver to the ux-2 for flightsim talk about being there, good luck. May 7, 201214 yr I have KRK Rockit RP6's hooked up to one of my desktops, sounds good with FSX, but volume is an issue - needs to be quite loud to hear any real advantage Elliot Westacott
May 7, 201214 yr Hi Alex, As a guitarplayer for more than 30 years (and also being a Hammond player), I have quite some experiences with the Yamaha NS-10 studio monitor speakers. They have a very neutral sound and "not coloured". I know they are quite aged but it's still a reference in studio. I don't know if you can still purchase them as new but otherwise you'll always find them on ebay. Wish you a lot of luck to find the right sound, ;). Peter Belgium Flightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ...
