QualityWings BAE 146

Apparently it can't be easily done, although not tried it myself. The gauges will probably make FSX crash, which is usually the issue with manually porting things over. It can sometimes be sorted out by swapping gauges in the VC, which is how I got the AeroSim DC-8 and 747-100 working in FSX, but it's a pain in the &@($* to do and occasionally brings problems with it as well.

I bought it to check it out, and to get paying for it out of the way, since I wanted really for FSX rather than FS9, although to be fair it is good in FS9, if you still have that installed.

That's interesting Al. I have a couple of complex port overs in fsx. Too bad this won't work. I guess there's no harm in me trying it, I'd have to buy the fs9 version anyway then get the fsx update.

I'm afraid, of late what I've bought from them(DC-3, Comet, Viscount)has not inspired me to be tempted buy anything else from them, even a discounted prices!

These were all made by Just Flight themselves. The 146 is being made by CLS, which also made the A300/310/330/340,747-200/300,767-200/300, and MD-81/87 available from Just Flight. For the casual simmer, their stuff is excellent (Not in terms of Systems modeling, but looks, sounds, flight dynamics). I can assure you that the 146 would be much better than the DC-3, Comet, and Viscount that Just Flight developed.

Ya, I have no idea why they are doing the FS9 version first, o well, it looks like a nice plane but its just not my cup of tea, the only developer I trsut to make Airliner Addons is PMDG, Level-D, Flight Sim Labs any one else I will wait to see what the reviews are.

You have to understand that this project didn't start last week. It started at least three years ago, perhaps even 5 (not quite sure anymore at the moment). At the time, FSX was still performing rather badly and complaints were everywhere. As such, a FS9 version was developed first, and then when the time came they'd see how FSX had progressed. Remember that the QW757 was not to be done for FSX at all! They only made it after popular demand and seeing that FSX performance was going uphill.

Al: To be honest, I'm surprised that the method of release makes you hesitant of buying the plane. I mean, you constantly buy stuff from Captain Sim, who always have some kind of pre purchase thing going on... Just seemed to me like QW's release strategy shouldn't be anything different, or much of a reason to hesitate.

Wouldn't agree about flight dynamics, most CLS planes seem to have very ineffective rudder which is almost useless in crosswind landings.

Anyway they are indeed good for those who do not like having to learn complex systems and all that.

Well, I didn't really hold off for too long on buying it, but in any case the release method is not really comparable to what Captain Sim have done, in that they partially release FSX aircraft (minus VC as they did with the B-52, B737, B777) so that you can still use it with some of your own tweaking.

That isn't the same as knocking out the FS9 version before an FSX version, and if we are to believe what PMDG reports about FSX sales being far greater than FS9 ones, to the extent that they have now dropped doing FS9 stuff completely, then it seems rather odd to concentrate on the older sim where sales will apparently be lower. I'd have thought doing it the other way around would have made more sense if they were insistent upon doing an FS9 version. Doesn't really bother me, I just think it seems a little odd.
