May 23, 201214 yr A 757 actually I believe, unless there was a recent change. Pics I have found on Flickr from the other day show a 757 as well. -ZATZAi -ZATZAi | Matthew Nitti

May 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member Yeah, the C-32 (mil version of the B752) that departed ADW on Saturday (right in the middle of the airshow, actually) had winglets, which may have confused you. I'll try to post a pic of it when I get home. Kyle Rodgers

May 23, 201214 yr That is surely a 737. But be careful, the title "Air Force Two" can be assigned to any aircraft. Generally every aircraft on which the vice president, but not the president himself, is onboard will have the callsign "air force two". Most commonly it is a 757. Anyway, Wikipedia will tell you more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_force_two Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
May 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member Yeah - it's just any aircraft in whatever branch of the services the President or Vice President are flying on currently that gets the callsign. The VC-25s the President normally uses aren't actually called "Air Force One" inherently, the President has to be flying on board for that. He could be in a USAF owned Cessna 172 and that airplane would get the callsign "Air Force One." When he's on the helicopter between Andrews and the White House, that's called "Marine One" etc. That NG variant is the C-40B: http://en.wikipedia....ki/C-40_Clipper Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 23, 201214 yr Yep, anything can be AF1 if the prez is sitting in it.. I remember back when Clintons mother passed on.. She lived in Hot Springs AR, and my dad, and grandmother in another house, lived next door to Memorial Field. My grandparents lived there since I was born, so I grew up watching all the aircraft at that airport. Had TI DC-9's twice a day back in the 60's, when it was still a controlled airport. They called them "pamper jets" back then.. It was painted on the airplane.. Frontier also flew there for many years. Anyway, when Clinton came to Hot Springs for the funeral, naturally a 747 will have trouble with the 6600 foot runway at Memorial.. So he had to fly the 747 to the Air Force base in Little Rock, and then he hopped on an Air Force DC-9 that he flew from LR to HS.. It was then Air Force One.. My dad lived out next to the highway, "70", and sat out on his porch and watched them all drive by in the motorcade as they left, and then returned to the airport later. The past several years, it's been an uncontrolled airport. They have a turboprop company that fly to Dallas, and some other cities.. The rest is GA, which includes quite a few light jets. The Lear jets can be loud, when taking off and landing almost in your backyard.. The older ones emit a mighty roar as they depart, and the reverse thrust when landing will rattle the windows too. :| I fly the NGX 600 there quite often.. :) One of the night landing vids I posted using the HGS was taken there, doing ILS 05. May 24, 201214 yr Author Thank you for all your input, and I was asking because Biden was in town so I knew it had to been AF2. I was just curious as to the version of the 737. Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
