Buffalo Airways DC-3 At A Farm

Featured Replies

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

All of you are wondering what in the heck Buffalo Airways DC-3 was doing on farm field?? To make the long story short, a huge farm with many horses, cows, chicken, and pigs in Canada usually got cattle feed 3 times a week delivered by trucks so that animals could be well fed. One problem: an one week bad thunderstorm rain caused mudslides and trees fell on roads blocking trucks' path to the farm meaning that farm could not get regular supplies of food for animals.

Hence Buffalo Airways got a contract to airlift food on temporary basis to the farm with huge farm fields long enough for DC-3s to land and take off until the roads were cleared out and re-opened.

Finished unloading hays while a horse watched suspiciously

Hi!

Thanks for the pics sir. The DC-3 looks really nice sitting there in that field. Kinda reminds me of the old days of aviation when planes used to land in modified fields.

Many thanks,

Pierre
