June 23, 201213 yr Not too sure about the grass... might you shoot a few back to back with the freeware REX texture? http://www.realenvir...nloads.html] Haven't tried the payware version, but thanks for the tip about the free REX textures, which work well in FS9 (even though the detail1.bmp file size is 10 times the default) and are finely detailed enough to not be noticeable at altitude and not too out-of-scale on the ground. A good compromise. John G.
June 24, 201213 yr I use this grass which I think is much better and it's free on avsim. vololiberista http://library.avsim...4misc&Go=Search One of the best grass textures for FS 2004 that I have come across. Very realistic-looking, both on the ground, and in the air! The aerial view adds a more trealistic; "grainy texture" to the scenery, which is an improvement over the default; "smooth texture" My only slight gripe, is that the grass effect is laid down in large darker patches in front of me as I progresses through the scene, but as it is a big improvement, I can live with it! Well worth a try over the default "detail1" texture. PhotoGrass Beta. Moskvin Stanislav. photograss.zip Paul...FS 2004...REX, GE Pro, VOZ 1.8, FS Global, UT USA+Canada.
June 25, 201213 yr Yeah did mine too! but mine is 9.6! I do hope that is not a screenshot, otherwise I will have to derate my version to FS9.4  Somebody should draw up a baseline spec for what constitutes FS9.x I suspect it might be a moving target however... from time to time, texture sets appear that blow even a competent setup into the weeds.
June 25, 201213 yr Who defines what are versions 9.1+x ? Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
June 25, 201213 yr Who defines what are versions 9.1+x ? Users themselves. As FS9 as a product itself is long time dead (just like FSX), all the great still coming addons make it better all the time. So we are free to celebrate it changing the name accordingly to show how different our sim is now from what is was as pure FS9.1 eight years ago.
June 25, 201213 yr Just that easy... Somebody should draw up a baseline spec for what constitutes FS9.x +1 Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
June 25, 201213 yr Somebody should draw up a baseline spec for what constitutes FS9.x So, what should be the standard for FS9.5? FS9.1 + GE Pro + REX + Pablo Díaz HDE? June 25, 201213 yr So, what should be the standard for FS9.5? FS9.1 + GE Pro + REX + Pablo Díaz HDE? A nice starter! If we add stuff like FSGenesis, FSNav, FSUIPC, ASE, AES, TOPCAT, VROUTE, Active Camera, FSRecorder, EditVoicePack, TrafficTools and WOAI, I would see a standard! :P Not to mention excellent scenery and aircraft and here tastes may (and will) differ.
