July 17, 201213 yr There are low and slow pilots. And there are low and fast pilots. And probably there are high and fast pilots, but not in Flight! :LMAO: At least not yet. Can somebody please explain this to me? I am a low and slow guy. Of course, I love to ogle the scenery and one has to be relatively high to see it. But, there is something very enticing about getting down to ground level when flying. Is it the risk? The adrenalin starts to pump? No, really, that's hard to fathom, since there is no risk in a flight game. Here I am at 75 feet MSL: Obviously, my passengers are usually scared and/or sick. Often both at the same time. :lol: At 67 feet. At 11 feet! At 4 feet!!!! Well, there's not much risk skimming the water surface in the Cub I am sure that there are a lot of you who, just like me, love to get down as low as you can. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
July 17, 201213 yr You get a pretty good sense of speed when flying nap of the earth like that. Even when the speed isn't much faster than you'd be going in a car on a good road. If you're going to do it, might as well get paid to do it. Fly some clandestine missions, right over the treetops. Flying them in Alaska has taught me something: there's a lot of similarity between flying the hoops challenge courses and flying up a mountain pass in a clandestine mission trying to stay out of sight of law enforcement. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
July 17, 201213 yr Nice flying! That is one janky as hell way to get a cockpit in the Cub though :lol:
July 17, 201213 yr Flight does that feeling of speed very well, particularly down low. It's there I really notice what a difference the lack of micro-stutters and FPS changes that FSX is cursed with makes. And of course the ever-present threat of CTDs... i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

July 17, 201213 yr How do get the pseudo VC view? Could not figure it out myself. Thank you More I use Flight, more I want to learn about flying. Not a gamer...but it is fun to experiment. Claude Dugal

July 17, 201213 yr I've been doing lots of tree dodging. Sometimes I'll try to follow the contour going up hill and touchdown fairly often. One time I ended up taxing the last few hundred feet until I got to the top where I could once again fly. Another thing I like is landing on and skimming from one ice flow to the next. Mostly I use the cub for this type of flying. Rag Tag Fleet Development Team Member. http://yankeeclippersmobile.com/forum

Mostly I use the cub for this type of flying. A friend of mine was a B-52 Instructor. They used to have these "oil burner" runs, where they would go across the everglades at around 300 ft agl at cruising speed which I guess was around 300 mph or more. I guess you were putting along in a C-152 at 1500 feet, and one of these B52s went underneath you, it would really get your attention.
