Cub Deluxe almost on sale.

From the Marketplace page:

"Seating Capacity: 2"

I wonder if they are "fixing" the passenger capacity or just publishing correct (but incorrect for Flight) stats.

Why would the stats be incorrect for "Flight?"

Because in Flight you can do a 4 passenger job with the cub. Any cargo or passenger-job that you can do with a Maule, you can do with the Cub as well.

Because Flight lets you take 4 passengers with you in the cockpitless Cub.

Yes, apparently the GPS is the same as in the Icon5... Not too good for a start on this new approach to DLCs completion of basic aircraft. There are some leds bellow the GPS dislay that I can't glimpse, so I still have hpoes that it brings a little bit more of functionality

Looks like the VOR radio frequencies just below the GPS, so that could be DME to the right. I can't quite make it out, though.

I would still use Gmap anyway. VOR and DME would be good.

Any chance of getting an ADF?

So we can switch off the GPS and still fly with no visibility!

And who's flying that thing? They've got the engine just a bit high on RPM!

Let's hope they will release it when the 40% sale is still there! EDIT Hm, considering the fact that Flight DLC usually arrives a few days later on Steam, I don't think this will happen.

That would be a nice gesture, especially for those that had already supported the game and bought everything else before the recent sale. Delafina claimed that the delay releasing Alaska on Steam was caused by an unintentional scheduling snafu. So, I'm crossing my fingers.

I don't think that we get the Cub with floats... Waterski in my eyes just mean to be able to surf on the water in order to slow down as it works already now...

I was hoping for floats, but that's how I read it too.

Haven't seen and ADF in an aircraft in years.

Seems kind of silly for MS to have planted NDBs all over their scenery if they had no intention of using them.

And heck, there are still lots of published airways in Alaska defined by NDBs.

I seriously doubt anyone getting a Carbon Cub today would have an ADF installed in it. That would be like putting an 8-track tape player in your new car.

For Alaska, it would be like putting an 8-track player in your car, and living somewhere with lots of stores selling 8-track tapes.

Quaint. Archaic, even. But still in use. For how long, who knows.

No, I probably wouldn't put one in a new plane either. But I sure wouldn't rip it out of an older plane just because it's obsolescent.

You guys do as you wish, but I shall get the Deluxe Cub because... I love Cubs!

Just like some people love Cessnas, and others love DC-3s, and there are even some people who love Boeings, although that's hard for me to understand. Just%20Kidding.gif

To each his own.

Best regards.

do.png Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

I have been having so much fun with the cub that I have hardly flown anything else in Alaska and have been back to Hawaii with it also. The panel will a huge improvment for me. I just hate looking to the hud for vital information. A true low and slow aircraft.

My best man, many years ago, brought me out to Republic Field in Long Island one afternoon to see something he had bought. We went to a hanger, opened the door, and there sat a metal frame of some kind of aircraft with the wing pieces behind it. It looked like an erector set, more than anything. I said " what the heck is that", and he said, " A Piper cub" He had it put together with him working on it along with an A and P, and then covered it. He got his private license in it with the VA's help, went on to get his Instrument rating, Commercial, CFI, and eventually an ATP and wound up flying for a small Airline. He now owns a Seaplane School. All from a Piper Cub.......

And with the flaps, which the original cub didn't have, I can get into those small fields, even after avoiding the trees at the end. BTW, I have my credit card taped to my monitor ready for when the sale starts.

All I care about is that there is no or minuscule delay in bringing the deluxe cub to Steam.

Unlike a few folks on here who use Steam yet managed to buy Alaska through the marketplace, I can't...has to do with having a Canadian address on my credit card and paypal, but my Live ID is American...can't get past the payment screen. Long story. Anyhow, I'm crossing my fingers there won't be the same 5 day delay like there was with Alaska!
