July 20, 201213 yr Just FYI, at Simmarket there's also a scenery for Shanghai Pudong, but honestly I can't recommend it at all. See the simflight review I wrote about it to get an idea of its quality. There'a also a rather nice Seoul Incheon scenery by Overland. I think they are currently doing Tokyo Haneda too. July 20, 201213 yr Author I saw a few at simmarket with very good reviews, I think overland was one. The spending has to stop somewhere though lol. I got Singapore and both Hong Kongs. Plus the FSDT Hawaii set of 3 - 40% discount for all Hawaii.
July 20, 201213 yr I am using Imagine Sim's VHHH, WSSS and VIDP.. No issues what so ever and very nice fps.. I am also using FSGlobal 2010 as a mesh under everything and Burk Renk's MytrafficX 5.4 with no issues.. In terms of priority in the scenery library, FSGlobal Mesh is the next one up after FSX's default scenery, then on top of that sits MytrafficX 5.4 and on top of that are the Imagine Sim scenery. This method fixed issues where Imagine Sim's default traffic seemed to be double parked over the MytrafficX AI aircraft. July 20, 201213 yr I have FS Global ultimate Asia and Oceania, so I'll try some flattening meshes when I get more time. Or maybe I need to figure out how to exclude that airport area. If anyone knows how to create an exclude scenery file please point me to where to find the info. Dan, FSX / settings / Scenery Library, try moving the Imagine SIM scenery entries higher up the list above your Fs Global ultimate entries and UT2 (if present) and see if that helps.. July 20, 201213 yr Author Dan, FSX / settings / Scenery Library, try moving the Imagine SIM scenery entries higher up the list above your Fs Global ultimate entries and UT2 (if present) and see if that helps.. Airports are already at the top, imaginesim is up there. The water over ground next to singapore is fixed, I think that was an AFCAD file I forgot to remove. But VHHH I still have a minor problem, waterfalls over the edge of the airport. Does yours look like this:
July 20, 201213 yr Author Maybe that's just how it is I think - saw in this video this guy also has the same shoreline. It's not a showstopper, I'd just wish the shore would make up it's mind if it's a cliff or if it is water :)
July 22, 201213 yr Author For anyone else with imaginesim VHHH, the bleedthrough on the edges can be improved by using the ALT file that comes with the AIG AFCAD made to work with this addon. It's still not perfect, but good enough and their AFCAD gives more parking anyway so it's worth it:http://library.avsim...cad&DLID=152665
July 22, 201213 yr Narita would be good :) I guess it's going to be hard to build. I purchased Kai Tak, it's amazing yet has no FPS hit. I don't know how but there is no AI there yet maybe that's why FPS is so good. I also got Imaginesim, there is something funky going on with the meshes there. There is waves over the land and textures where there is water. I have FS Global ultimate Asia and Oceania, so I'll try some flattening meshes when I get more time. Or maybe I need to figure out how to exclude that airport area. If anyone knows how to create an exclude scenery file please point me to where to find the info. Getting UT2 AI doesn't look straightforward so I'm going to have to put that off until I can RTFM and trial and error. Do you have any mesh product running under them? Go to Fly Tampa's forum and there is a good explaination there under kai tak by george for ui traffic!
July 22, 201213 yr I'll check out MHTG as well, do you fly there with default scenery or an addon? Take a look at my full-on FSX MHTG scenery in the file library here. In most respects, I prefer it over LatinVFR's, but I may be biased. I did model the hill removal, although since 2008 they have removed even more of the hill, and added more displaced threshold. A refresh may be in order. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
July 23, 201213 yr Author Thanks I got the VHHX traffic in by creating a schedule in powerpack from one of the old FS9 ones on avsim library. MHTG is not in Asia :) But I'll take a look thanks, I do Caribbean stuff as well since GEX covers there and I have Trinidad and Tobago from LatinVFR too, and all of the PWS freeware (http://www.strikingsoftware.com/pws.shtml)
July 23, 201213 yr Author edit: ignore that, I had a duplicate AFCAD and it crashed GSX. Removed the other AFCAD and allgood. Thanks for the scenery! Are you doing any more work on it? I read in the readme you had planned to add some more.
July 23, 201213 yr Are you doing any more work on it? I read in the readme you had planned to add some more. Maybe, except that I have forgotten a lot of my gmax/MakeMDL skills. I have hardly booted the sim since 2009 -- so I am just getting back into things. I notice VirtualCol's MHTG and they have improved it GREATLY since back then. Back when I made mine, nothing existed for FSX, and I wanted to fly that approach into a decent-looking airport...so I made it myself, with reflections, etc. Only reason I mentioned it was because someone mentioned MHTG, and how its approach surpasses Kai Tak's...and I tend to agree. MHTG is probably my favorite approach of all of them. Any discussion of that airport and its approach greatly interests me :) Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
July 23, 201213 yr Author In that case I strongly advise that you fly and enjoy the sim :) We all spend too much time tweaking and fiddling I think, I know I spend at least as much time installing and testing stuff or modifying things as I do flying it.

Any discussion of that airport and its approach greatly interests me :) Yeah, that was me ^^ I discovered MHTG well after VHHX, and ever since I tend to use the MROC-MHTG route as one of my prinma flights to show off FSX to other people, precisely because of the terrific approach. It is indeed one of my favorite approaches too, because of its craziness. What can I say? I greatly recommend getting Central America sceneries, and doing flights between them, mostly because of the overall beautiful terrain and interesting (often rather crazy) locations of the airports. Here's my list: - LatinVFR Toncontin MHTG - LatinVFR San Jose de Costa Rica MROC - LatinVFR Guatamala MGGT - Virtualcol Tocumen MPTO - VirtualCol El Salvador MSLP (Don't have this one yet, but will want to get it soon!) You could also get some of the Mexican airport sceneries, and LatinVFR's Miami is about 2 hours away from La Aurora MGGT for example. I've done that flight quite foten and it has always been great fun to fly, because MGGT is in very hilly country which gives you some really nice views on approach. But I'm going completely off topic. Are you interested in long haul only, or will you also want to do shorter hops within Asias countrties? If yes, there are various airfields in Thailand and the surroundings countries which are well worth the money. They look really nice and because of their relative proximity to each other, flights are not too long either.
