Oh please, stop beating a dead horse. It's totally useless now but you could sim in Flight just as you could arcade in FSX. Please. You clearly haven't a clue of what was possible in Flight. July 27, 201213 yr It really helps to have a stable joystick platform and not floating around the deskttop or in your lap. I finally hacked together a stand, still needs some work, but is working very well for me anyway, Ouch!!!! And the size of those flight pedals are quite big also. I believe those are the Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder pedals. Jeroen uses those too if I'm not mistaken. I have a Logitech steering wheel and I believe the pedals are not even half the size of those flight pedals. Question to Air1. What joystick are you using? Looks very professional.

One thing I've noticed in the past few months. Real pilots saw Flight for what it was, an actual "good representation of real flight" in the VC, the simmers (fake pilots) seemed to be offended that MS made their simming much easier in attempt to draw in the masses. I think they were upset that their friends might try Flight and think hey "you are just a fake pilot"

Sorry that some of you took offense at what I wrote. I was just sympathizing with those that just got in and then experienced the demise of Flight. Don't misunderstand me, yes the graphics seemed to be an improvement and it seems that there were other possibilities that would have improved it even more. I based my judgement on the videos being posted and nothing captured my interest. That's just me. Regarding Mike's "fake pilot" comment, I in no way claim to be a real pilot. I have taken 2 lessons though and would love to continue, but I can't justify the time and cost involved to obtain a PPL. But I like being in the cockpit of those aircraft that make you push all the buttons like the iFLY 737 or other highly detailed aircraft. Flying from the outside isn't for me, edpecially if you have to purchase it. And to J van E, I hope you have a better day. Jim D.

I think they were upset that their friends might try Flight and think hey "you are just a fake pilot" Haha, Mr Stokes, if you will permit me to assist you in removing that stick you have so enthusiastically shoved into a hornet's nest there, let me agree with you in widening that statement to say that, in general, my observation is that people who fly or have flown in real life (and who have a concurrent interest in simulation) tend to be fairly accommodating of all sims. I don't think I have seen as much falling one side of the fence or the other when it comes to the pros and cons of one piece of software over another; rather there is general amazement of what is in fact achievable within the limits of a desk-bound medium coupled with realistic criticism of shortcomings. I am generalizing of course, but that's my observation. Mr Adamson is perhaps one of the more prominent examples here at AVSIM, and long may he continue to be. As to Flight, I do think it does do a better job of the feel of flying light aircraft than most. Hard to put my finger on exactly what it is, other than the aircraft feel like they're the proper size - it really feels like a not inconsiderable miracle that you're heaving this vehicle off a runway, where perhaps in other sims it feels that way in a 747, but light aircraft are just that - light, and inconsequential. Highly subjective stuff, I know, so I'll leave it there!
