They must have pulled the plug sometime tonight. Can you imagine if this would have happened yesterday and the Carbon Cub Deluxe never saw the light of day. Talk about a 'Jagged Little Pill' we've had to swallow in the last 24hours...

I will go out on a limb and say that this wont be happening. Ever.

Sudden, yes. I know certain people on the team had no idea, as they had just requested some stuff from me.

why do they keep firing people, just assign them a new project like fsx 11 :Praying: , it's very sad for the employees.

They failed twice to make a sim work under the MS house, what makes you so sure they will try a 3rd time?

If they couldn't keep a lightweight title like Flight in the air, there's no hope whatsoever for FS11.

With luck they'll sell the rights to the code to someone who can take it and run with it. And maybe give it enough resources to keep it going. AND.. maybe get a project manager who understands flight simming.

Are you talking about FSX and now Flight. What about the 20+ year history of the franchise as a whole???

fs9 was an awesome successful project by MS and with $1000 in addons, it kicks butt!

Neither, I fear.

Not P3D because of the licensing limitation, unless MS departing the flying-game category triggers a clause that permits LM to market it as entertainment.

And for all it's improvements, XP seems years away from that. I have not tried XP10, true, but past versions were just weird.

Im talking about what was after FSX that was also canceled that im also still under NDA for.

I think the point is this. Flight simming cant work under the MS banner for many reasons, and I think the biggest one is that even if it does make money, its not enough to be on MS's radar. I think simming is better served under a smaller more agile developer and publisher. I hope one stands up to fill in the gap, but I dont see that happening for years.

I have tried it. Its getting there....... but even slower than flight was, and the focus is not really on anything but professionals and want to be professionals. Its a very fine technical sim, but I have found no "Fun" there.
