Wish to print the manual

Recommended Posts

I would like to be able to print the manual and tutorial flights available on the website. However I was informed at Staples that because the document says "Do not reproduce" at the bottom of each page.

Is this the intention of this statement? Or is it possible to get permission from PMDG to print it.

Thanks

Seth

Your best bet is to inquire directly to PMDG. Only someone authorized to speak for them can advise you on your question. It's their software, so it's their rules.

From the EULA:

"1. GRANT OF NON-EXCLUSIVE, LIMITED LICENSE

The Software and related documentation is licensed, not sold. Any rights not clearly and expressly granted to you under this EULA are reserved to PMDG..."

I tried once with a laser double side printer, well i had to send a maximum of 20 page each session as the PDF have a sort of filter in case of mass printing.

A nightmare if you live in USA you be better buying them as mention.

Buy them from PMDG directly, it is just cheaper that way.

Went to a local copy shop. $36 to print the two tutorials and the manual. Good quality too.

And no mention of copyright either.

Not sure where you get your paper but even at overpriced places like Officeworks you can get 5x500 page boxes for about $25 (2500 pages), or just sperate reams of 500 for 5 bucks.

This question was asked shortly after the NGX was released already. If you search for it you may still find it. Not sure if it's in the General or the NGX forum now since a few posts have been moved over when this one was created.

Anyway I remember the argumentation from PMDG themselves back then was that it is ok as long as you only use it for yourself. With the pruchase of the NGX you've also got the license to use the manuals for yourself in any way you want as long as you don't distribute, share or make them public in any other way.

BTW, could you tell me how much money then want? I'm also thinking of going there to print them out, but I've always wondert how expensive it is to do so!

And please sign your posts with your full real name according to the forum rules.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

I got the PMDG NGX manuals but to be quite honest I am not happy with my decision. I know it sounds odd but I will explain.

In the manuals sold by PMDG, the figures that have colour do not show well - they are all dark (an example that I recall well is the pages with information of the HUD). Therefore, when I need to use the manual, I have to open the pdf files in my computer and compare them with the same pages in the manual. Actually, in the above example (HUD), I did print the pdf pages with the HUD description and pasted the figures in the manual.

For the B777 I am considering to use the pdf in a Ipad (if that is possible).

I printed the parts of FCTM vol 2 I wanted on a Epson 630 and the cost was far less than buying them. I bought the FCTM i belive for about 50 bucks and my printing cost I would guess about 10 bucks. I have all that I need for the information that is important to me.
