July 31, 201213 yr Nice! In europe Norwegian also has Wifi a really cool feature that is appearing in airliners! :-) The company I work for, are flying for Norwegian on some of their routes. Although we, as cockpit crew, aswell in the cabin are not allowed to use it, while on duty. :-) hehe. But yeah flying as pax it's a really nice feature. :-) 737 CL/NG skysurfer
July 31, 201213 yr Zach, do you take that as a good thing? I find it pretty distractive that on LiveATC when you are listening to Delta XXXX landing you also hear American XXX requesting clearance. Hi Diego, For my purposes and considering I'm saturated with ATC on a daily basis, I only see having multiple freqs. at one time as a good thing! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

August 1, 201213 yr This is a lot better than flightaware, minus no FPL data: http://www.flightradar24.com/ Dunno.. I just compared the two right now, and they seem pretty close. If FR24 is ahead, it's not by much. Most of the planes I see, appear to be about in the same locations on either one. One problem I've noticed with FR24, is often not showing a lot of planes that are actually out there. It seems pretty good right now, but I've seen other times that many planes that I could see on Flightaware were missing on FR24. I've noticed FA is pretty peculiar at naming the types of aircraft.. IE: I'll watch a SWA 737-800 flight, and it's often confused about the type, and it can even change in short periods of time. It will often show pre-flight as an 800, but then after departure it will list a 300 on the usual flight list, but show an 800 on the moving map.. Then many times, after the flight is over, it will list it as being flown by a 300, even though I know that was not the case. It seems the info on the moving map is the most reliable, but I imagine that can be off too.. A SWA 800 from Vegas just landed at Hobby while I was comparing the two sites.. Mark Keith
August 1, 201213 yr Cmon guys, I know the difference between an NG and a classic lol... N790SW was my aircraft - a verified -700 on the FAA's site. Also, look at the altitude plot - we were at FL400 up from our filed FL380 trying to get out of the continuous light chop we were in for most of the flight. Classics are limited to FL370, so there's no way we were at either 380 or 400 in a -300. Here's a pic from right around when I posted. SouthWest Business Class down the rear of the plane - unusual !!!! Jeff Blyth MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!

Yeah I know what you mean, but FA doesn't cover europe or the rest of the world I think as well as FR24. Plus it's embedded on Google maps which is very nice. Dev Singh
August 2, 201213 yr Yeah I know what you mean, but FA doesn't cover Europe or the rest of the world I think as well as FR24. Plus it's embedded on Google maps which is very nice. Google maps as a background is a must IMHO. I really hope Flight Aware will use their maps in the future, as what they have now as "earth view" is downright atrocious. I live near a large lake in Pennsylvania, and I cannot see it on FA. I'm sorry, but there is no excuse for such a low res rendition, considering what the competition offers and the prevalence of Google earth imagery in everything from mobile phones, the web, and even automobile navigation systems! I do like FA's new live visual tracking of the aircraft, whereas a few months ago it was only updated every minute or so. That is a plus, and I find they have the best "freeware" tracking of aircraft movements. A.J. Domingo
August 2, 201213 yr Nice pics ryan.. I was on a real 737 last Saturday.. BOS-CLT but it was a 400 not a NG. I have one pic of the plane before and a few pics from the viewing area at CLT.. I would have taken more but the GF was worried we were going to get arrested for taking pictures of planes.
