MSFS2020

MCE 2.8.9.2

Using Native ATC

Using the PTT feature, MCE recognizes my request for Charlie Airspace Transition, but keeps choosing NEAREST AIRPORTS instead.

VFR Flight Plan @ 8500FT:

YBWN

YHAB

YSHR

YBHM

YBMK

Request Class C airspace between YBWN and YHAB. Using the TBM with mods.

  • There you go. Download this patch Manually replace 3 files in \Multi Crew X-Plane\ installation folder. From now on, once you mute all MCE reco with ScrollLock (or optionally with Numlo

  • For PMDG 737 MSFS integration, it is currently in Beta. Should have received invitation to download the Beta. Assuming you've done that, download this patch http://www.multicrewxp.com/B

  • Try using the word "all".   Two relevant examples that work for me (1st for the NGX, 2nd for the simcheck A300):   "All fuel pumps on."   "Deactivate all packs."

Thank you. Yes, I realize this flight is in Australia, but it is English.

Isn't there a way to click into Notepad++ and actually see the response (the number) that MCE 'presses'?

It doesn't matter where you fly. I meant MSFS 2020 user language must be set to English. If you set it to say Fench, all ATC will be in French language and almost no option would be selected.

I believe this is due to the fact, when you fly VFR at low altitude and you stray slightly from the specific ATC boundaries, the ATC menu can shift very quickly back and forth between the screen that shows "Request Class D airspacce transsition" and the other one tat show "Request flight following".

It's possible when your spech was taken in and MCE worked out which option to select, the screen shifted to the one showing "Nearest airport list".

Things aren't hard coded, like Speech S1 triggers key K1, but rather a lot more complex than that.

For instance, you probably noticed, all acknowledgments use key 1.

Now try to acknowledge something while there is no such option displayed in ATC menu.

MCE will recognize and display what you said, but nothing should happen in the menu, otherwise would be hitting other options by accident.

Thanks for the explanation Gerald.

Sorry for the delay, required seeing it under the debugger.

What's happening is that when it sees a letter when it expects a flight number, it is dropping the airline name altogether and viewing it as GA traffic.

Agree, in real life you may have a single letter at the end of a flight number.

Will see what can be done in next patch.

Hi Gerald, was the fix for this issue implemented? Yesterday my FO wouldn't reply automatically to the callsign “Air Canada 557C“.

Also, while flying heading 140, I asked the FO to set heading 230. She did so, but counterclock-wise, and the plane (PMDG 747) kept turning to the left, which really wasn't what I wanted on approach. Maybe a one-off, will keep an eye on it.

Best regards, Dimitrios

Hi Gerald, is this patch intended for P3D? It seems to be for MSFS.

Hi Gerald, I did a quick test of the patch, and it worked. Not a whole flight, just had the FO request clearance and read it back. Asking for the call-sign also worked. Thanks!

Pobably because you assigned some custom checklist to some planes and it's either missing or not in valid format.

Try loading CE with a different plane. Eventually, restore MCE to factory settings so it is set to use default checklist.

Best not to write to file directly and use the Voxscript interface instead.
