Hi Everyone

Featured Replies

Im new to this forum and i guess i found the right grp to join.First of all i must admit i simply love PMDG 737 and im trying to master her. It's tough but thats what makes it more challenging. I would appreciate  all the advise n assistance i could get on learning the FMC n how to programme the FMC.I know there is alot of videos on youtube but most of the quality is rather bad and some are in german. Would appreciate if anyone has any good link or tutorial in English i could learn to programme the FMC.

Please i really need help on that topic.

Thank you in advance

Regards

There is a tutorial that came with the product (a good one too). go to C:\FSX(Where ever you put it)\PMDG\flightmanuals anf it is there!

Both tutorials that come with the NGX are fantastic for a first start. Do them more than once! Do the first one until you can do it like it really is your job, and can be done nearly by memory, then, do the same with the second. Also, once you start mastering the second, open up the FCOM, part 2, and read through and try some things in Chapter 11, specifically 11.32 on, which is all about the FMC.

Regards,

Kyle

Yep ditto the advice above mate - go through the tutorials and if you want to lighten your workload get FS2Crew! That said, make sure you have had some good goes yourself first.

Oh and enjoy!

Good advice and welcome.

Those tutorials are really the best thing to get a handle on this kite. If you have questions after doing those we are sure to help.

Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction.

The tutorials are great as others suggested, just make sure you read the details in it and be sure not to skip any steps. The NGX operates very close to the real thing, so if something is not working, its probably because you did something out of order or the plane's "state" is not what the simulator logic expects it to be in. For example I posted here about the auto pilot not engaging (CMD A button would pop back out). It turned out to be because the plane has to be stable and trimmed, whereas if you use the autopilot on the stock 737-800, you can enable it when the plane is almost in any state.

I *think* you can turn off some of this realism, but why remove the challenge :)

Hi Guys,

q

Will read throughly on the manual. Will upload to my Ipad and use it simultiniously for better n faster learning curve.

thanks again

If you still want to watch a good video tutorial - I used this series. Nice, clear instructions with no silly music etc. He covers everything from FMC setup (the link) to autoland, descent, emergencies and a lot more besides. The written tutorials are brilliant but sometimes it's a bit easier to see what you have to do in a video. Hope that helps :-)

Congrats mate and welcome to the club!

I had always enjoyed flying in to EHAM (have the Mega Airport version) before I discovered the PMDG NGX, so imagine my delight when the #1 tutorial flight took me there!

Now move on to tutorial #2 and if it boggles your brain, don't worry, stick with it, or go back and redo #1 until you are happy and give #2 a bash again after that.

And no doubt, if you get totally stuck, peeps here will help you out - just remember to 'read the manual' first. #justsaying
