Saitek multi panel - low stock?

Featured Replies

Maybe the thread title being adjusted would be a better option here, to remove the "discontinued" part, in fairness to Madcatz?

...........

I do see your point in the title part.. unfortunately i dont think it can be changed, at least not by me.. there is no advanced edit option that I can see in this forum's options.

Ok -

'Saitek multi panel discontinued or just low stock?' - I've removed 'discontinued' form the title and changed it to:

'Saitek multi panel - low stock?'

Is that better?

The store must be based outside of the USA, when u add to cart and enter address info for here in the states it says it cant be shipped here, unfortunately.

I sent an email to the Avsim store manager and he got right on this. He found out your state was not entered correctly and he contacted you and says all is well should you desire to purchase. My are we quick to jump on the other guy.

State was a pull down when I double checked it.. not sure how it was incorrect, but either way, its all good. Thanks for the help.

Markm75, glad it worked out for you.

There is an Avsim review in the back room getting the finishing touches for publication. This will test the full Saitek hardware cockpit including the Multi-panel, Switch panel, TPM, Radio Panels and Flight Instrument Panels along with the Cessna Yoke, dual quadrants and Combat pedals using many of the most popular twin engines add-ons. Should be on the front page within a week or so.

Looking forward to it, especially as you're testing in the context of twins. I have the yoke, dual quadrants, pedals, the multi-panel and now the radio, but have held off getting the switch panel as I fly more in twins than singles these days. Be interested in your reactions to the FIP's as well.

Thanks in advance for doing this set of reviews,

Scott

My point was merely one that starting a thread with a title like this, purely out of speculation was a bit unkind...

I think its the sort of thing anybody who runs their own business understands a lot more, but left me thinking "Why not just ring Saitek directly and ask?"

Were not seeing low stocks of it in the UK..

I agree with Scott though, its not "expensive junk" at all, my kit all works perfectly well, exactly as its intended to work, when using the Saitek software, but I chose to enhance that further by switching to SPAD/FSUIPC, which it has..

I didn't have the same experience when I got mine. The trim wheel was backwards and it took me more than an acceptable amout of time to change my altidude and other settings because the knobs were so slow. SPAD fixed the problems (as best as he could) and allowed me to customize the performance fo the knobs with acceleration settings. So at that time, it was junk no doubt. And why is the author of SPAD supporting the product for Saitek?

I'd like to see that.. sounds good. My multi probably wont be here for a bit and i'm reinstalling my fsx rig. I started working on my own review at least for the radio panel, but I may hold off and do all 3 later on (on my website). I also have the switch which just came but still a few days from getting started on that one.

Cant say I use a trim wheel at all, I use the switch on the yoke for Trim, so much easier, but you can crank up the axis sensitivity within FSX if they don't move quick enough..

I assume you tried that right?

Sensitivity rates or something like that.. I messed about with it on the yoke and had to turn it back down as I didn't want to barrel roll just by touching the yoke...

The multi panel trim wheel doesn't use an axis, nor does it even register with FSX. It's entirely driven by the saitek drivers, or SPAD. SPAD is what makes it adjustable, but only as good as the hardware will let it, and that's not very good. I could never get it to work well. Saitek did a much better job on the Cessna trim wheel which actually uses the FSX trim axis and feels very good.

Ah, that trim wheel... Yeah, I don't use it either, that one is a bit pants... Sorry mate, thought you meant the actual separate Saitek trim wheel (DOH!)

It was OK, wasn't great, but wasn't awful either, just didn't want to spend all my time with my thumb on that wheel when flying manually. I think it wasn't a great idea to put that on that panel to be honest.
