September 23, 201213 yr I want to get scenery for Toncontin Airport but I am not sure which one to get. Which one is better? The LavtinVFR version or the Taxi2Gate version? Taxi2Gate http://secure.simmarket.com/taxi2gate-toncontin-mhtg-fs2004.phtml LatinVFR http://www.latinvfr.com/LatinVFR_Honduras.html
September 23, 201213 yr I use the latin VFR one, it is stunning, the surrounding hills and airport are greatly detailed. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
September 24, 201213 yr Both developers partnered up for MHTG 2012 version, which was done by Taxi2Gate. If you like the pre-2012 version, stay with LatinVFR. Otherwise, go to Taxi2Gate for the latest version, which incorporates the real world changes. It looks great! September 24, 201213 yr If MHTG 2012 is a project of both developers, will AES recognize the new version? Has anybody tried this? (I still need some Central- and South-American AES'ed airports for my winter trip out of cold Europe.) Thanks! Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
September 24, 201213 yr If MHTG 2012 is a project of both developers Not quite correct. Latin VFR were in the process of upgrading their existing airport to latest standards while incorporating latest changes to the actual airport. In the meantime Taxi2Gate released their (excellent) version. Both deveopers eventually came to the realisation TWO Toncontins were one too many. Users of existing LatinVFR version were to be able to upgrade to the new one for a nominal amount. Ricardo has negotiated with Cesar that those simmers can acquire the Taxi2Gate version at a 25% discount. Sorry for being voluminous but better to tell whole story. With regard to AES Cesar has confirmed that all recent and future releases will be AESed ... up to Oliver of course.
September 24, 201213 yr Sorry for being voluminous but better to tell whole story. Thanks Appliance for this clarification, it's better to be correct than too short. With regard to AES Cesar has confirmed that all recent and future releases will be AESed ... up to Oliver of course. Very nice! I hope so for SGAS too, which I just bought together with MHTG. September 24, 201213 yr Author Thanks guys I did not know the story with Taxi2Gate, LatinVFR, and Toncontin. I will be getting the Taxi2Gate one soon.
September 24, 201213 yr I bought it today and tested it some moments ago. A very nice scenery indeed. But be warned! The installer - of course I checked this within the sandbox first - creates a folder for the airport scenery itself and one for the phototerrain ("MHTG-TERRAIN"). The last contains a "scenery"- and a "texture"-folder, although the texture folder is empty (the texture files for the phototerrain are copied into the "FS2004\Scenery\World\Texture" folder). You have to delete the empty texture folder, else your FS2004 will crash (so did mine). After deleting it, all worked fine. Good luck! Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. December 8, 201213 yr Hi, has anybody experienced CTDs with TAXI2GATE Tocontin? After testing it without problems weeks ago, I flew there today, and when I came in vicinity I had CTD. Obviously the phototerrain caused it. After de-activating MHTG Phototerrain FS2004 started without CTD. As soon I activated it again I had CTD again. I made a new install of MHTG without success. Thanks for sharing your experience! EDIT: Have sorted it.
