Will there be a 787

Featured Replies

There was a 737 in development at the time of the NGX development.... And that one got smoked.

There is a 777 in development right now, together with PMDG's 777 development... And that one will get smoked.

I don't really see why they wouldn't be able to develop a 787 just because someone else is doing one?

You're right about your statements, about it's development. But it really sucks because if something is in development, they should make something else. There's so many aircraft which aren't even present (in good quality) in neither FS2004 or FSX. Most of them are regionals, Russian/Soviet aircraft, western classics, and even most of the airbus family...

I have nothing against the delopment of the 777, my statement was just a constructive suggestion. Same for marketing since it will be the only option for the simmer who really needs this particular kind of airplane.

:LMAO:

Anyway, after the 777 and the 747-400 there still are the possible expansions for those types, such as the 300ER and 777F and the ER/BBJ/Military models for the 737. But after that, what else is there left from Boeing? I don't see PMDG doing a 767 or 757 in the future. I also don't see them doing any type of Bombardier aircraft, since the data and documentation is quite hard to get.

Embraer could be the possible "future manufacturer" that PMDG might work with in the future. There are 850+ E-Jets, of 60 airlines flying around in 41 countries at this moment and there are still hundrets of aircraft on order. We also might see something like an ATR 72-500/600 or MD-10 but let's be honest, whatever it will be, it'll be as great as the 777, 747 or any other future aircraft from PMDG.

All they would need for a 787 would be the documentation and a photosurvey, which could be done during a C- or B-Check of the United 787. And I am sure that they would find plenty of 787 pilots to help them out.

In addition to that, we all know that Rob looooves vintage aircraft, so we might see some more in the future. Maybe a Super Connie, since it was the competitor of the DC-6.

With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.

An updated Boeing 757 or 767 would be great. I have no disrespect for Level D, their Boeing 767 is amazing in systems but lacking in visuals... well it's a decade old now... And the captain sim 757 and 767 have great visuals, but their bugs kill all the enjoyment of the product...

You may find strange a communist is writing this, but I would pay if PMDG finally release a Boeing 757 or 767, or anything non-Boeing.

Lockheed Constellation would be great, they are already making a DC-6 which is a great step towards classic airliners. PMDG never listens to wishlists so probably no need to ask for airplanes to be developed...

The Boeing 707, 717, 737 classic, 727... are also left... would welcome these heavies to the fs world.

Only developer I'm against is "opusfsx" for making very rude PM's to my mailbox. If this was not Opus, then very sorry to the developer. But if any developer will resume FS2004 development, I'll be on their side!

There still are some devs. that develop for FS2004, Qualitywings and Carenado for instance.

I'd buy a 767 too if they did one, especially the 767-400 would be easy to do since the cockpit is from a 777.

But as I said before, I just don't see PMDG doing neither the 767 nor any other "older" boeing like the 707 or 727.

Good there is more people than me wanting a PMDG 767. But like many others, how come everyone is so sure PMDG won't make the classics, or soon to become "classics" like 757 and 767?

Quite a common misconception... While the 767-400 flight deck has elements and is quite similar to a 777 flight deck, once you go above the MCP it's all rather different.

Also, the flight model is not nearly the same, performance is different, systems are different,... The only thing you'd save is "some" modelling time, which would be nothing compared to the time it would take to work out the differences.

Well, back then in Munich Rob said that they "don't see themself doing the 737 classic series".

I guess it is not their "thing" to do classic jets like that. If they did the 75, the'd also do a 76 and vice versa.

There is a chance that they change their mind and go ahead for the 767, but it is very unlikely and would indeed suprise me.

But why are we actually discussing the potential succesors if the 777 is not even close to release? There are still at least two years for the 747-8f/i to be released. After that whe can actually go ahead and get a headache of thinking about a possible next PMDG add-on. LOL

haha... I believe we are discussing this since the statements are true, and of curiosity of what aircraft PMDG will make since they have already done all the modern Boeing series :)

Correct, this is a completely different aircraft type. I agree with you regarding the time this project would require compared to a comletely new development.
