October 9, 201213 yr I have been following the Tu-204 of Батька Черномор on Russian Avsim a couple months back. I have to agree that he went quite a way ahead in visual aspect of the plane, but unless he found a skilled programmer (which I did not notice a mention of), I am not confident he will be able to pull of the complexity of the systems in the way we are talking about here (PT, PMDG, LDS level). Yes, it might be a solid freeware level, but I would not bet my money on it being top-of-the-line level. P.S.: if you have english voices for the ground crew (from Czech version of the 154M, or addon voicepack), I am the one talking to you. --Peter Fabian
October 9, 201213 yr Lockheed Constellation would be great, they are already making a DC-6 which is a great step towards classic airliners. PMDG never listens to wishlists so probably no need to ask for airplanes to be developed... I think they're trying to compete with A2A Simulations. Cant wait for the DC-6 though!
October 11, 201213 yr I think they're trying to compete with A2A Simulations. Cant wait for the DC-6 though! I could be misremembering, but I seem to remember that when the DC-6 was announced PMDG also said they'd talked to A2A to ensure they wouldn't be getting in each other's way. John-Alan Pascoe
October 12, 201213 yr Commercial Member For the record - we do not need to wait 10 years or whatever someone was saying to "get the data" to do a 787. We do of course need to wait for it to get into wider service so that we can recruit a test team for it etc though. It's not something we're planning to do this instant, but once we have the ability to get a test team together, there's nothing that would hold us back as far as getting data from Boeing or anything like that. October 12, 201213 yr Hi All, Have just finished a weeks gen fam on the 787. A very different A/C to anything Boeing have produced before. There's a lot of electrics going on. Most systems are controlled by electric motors and everything is software controlled. It's all clever stuff! There must be millions of lines of code on this machine. Cheers Neil

It's been known for a while that PMDG have a commercial access relationship with Boeing since the NGX was in development. Ever since then I'v had confidence that a 787 would be possible. Of course they are currently working on the 777 and 747v2 (and DC6) which is rightfully the focus of their resources currently... but a 787 is increasingly looking like a logical future product at some point after these releases, perhaps after a few extra 777 variants. Of course it all takes time, and it's up to them to decide when it would make the best commercial decision to proceed to development of any aircraft they next wish to do. Having access to Boeing directly makes it more likley to be a project based on a Boeing product or product Boeing supports (remembering that Boeing currently also support aircraft that don't neccicarily have "Boeing" in their name, like MD11's etc). The above post has confirmed, once again, what we already knew. PMDG have a commercial relationship with Boeing. The data acquisition from Boeing is now the easy part. The programming of a Boeing aircraft and it's data into the confines of a Simulator (FSX, Prepar3d, whatever other platform) takes time, and development & testing needs to include people familiar with operating the aircraft type being developed. Thus my conclusion is: a 787 simulation from PMDG is very likley, but it hasn't been started yet. It will come after the current development cycle of the 777 and 747v2, but it may not neccicarily be the immediate next product after the 747v2 or 777 expansions (though it could be). Also I know for a fact, that I will buy it when it gets put on sale. be it 2016, 2020, or whenever it happens. I also don't see myself buying a 787 sim from anyone but PMDG. October 19, 201213 yr If they do, it's going to be atleast 6-7 years... because it has taken over 1 1/2 years for the 777, and it's still not released. And, PMDG said after the 777 they will be re-doing the 747...
