Eventually I'd imagine so, but not for a number of years. First they have to get the 777 out the door, then the next 737 expansion. Following that will be the 777 expansion to include the -300ER/200F one would suppose. Somewhere in there or maybe shortly after, they will be releasing their brand new 747-400 and will be looking to no doubt expand with a brand new 747-8 model replacing the older ones altogether.

The Q400 idea has been thrown around a lot, plus if I recall there were some very early development shots that were shown in Munich but I could be mistaken. It's possible once the 777 is out, they will be able to spread their focus a little more with the "big one" available to the public.

All that is at least another solid 2-3 years of development if not more. A potential PMDG 787 is at least 5 years away at this stage, if not a little further.

For the mean time, you will have to suffice with the QualityWings offering which if their RJ collection is anything to go by, will be excellent indeed. Not quite PMDG levels, but it will do nicely for a few years until something with a little more meat is available and on the market. As far as a potential Q400 release goes, you're looking at MajesticSoftware sometime later next year if not 2014. They are putting a lot of work into the bird, but with the length of time they've been in Alpha...they appear to be taking their sweet time with it. Each to their own of course.

But to summarise, QW 787 in 2013 or hypothetical PMDG 787 in 2017/18.

Thanks

Wow... how can somebody return such a good airliners? :O The reason I use it is for the systems, good dynamics, stable autopilot for long hauls... not the visuals!

Uh Have you seen the QW 787 previews? The details looks phenomenal. And if its anything close to the Avro/bae 146 in systems depth, which Im sure it will be this will be the bird to watch after the pmdg 777. They are putting out some very nice models, and are more in the ballpark of pmdg's standards. Most then other devs I think.

the reason is... i know exactly that i would not fly it because i have aircraft like the NGX, the MD11 and the upcoming 777, which have the same level of systemdepth and all are looking better from the interiorside. No discussion about the leveld, it is in fact a great addon, but for me it is not worth the money anymore. I hope leveld will do a vc-update after they release their 757 .

From that view I understand, as myself I use FS2004 there isn't any aircrafts like the NGX, but the MD-11 is excellent in visuals (probably it's almost the same model as in FSX).

I don't think level d will do an VC update, they seem to be very lazy since all these years making the 757... Even freeware developer do better, take Project Tupolev for example. Both QualityWings and Captain Sim were planned after the announcement of Level D 757, and they have been released years ago as far as I know.

Yeap.. i know what you mean. i hope the leveld 757 will be released sometime.. not that they drop the project.

Oh yes I do agree. If I came across as sounding like the QW products were less than satisfactory, that wasn't meant at all. I own the Avro series and it is absolutely phenomenal what they have done with it.

They are certainly in the PMDG ballpark I agree, along with Majestic Software after looking at their Q400 previews.

Thanks

i am pretty sure that PMDG will consider making a 787 only when its been in service for quite a while (10 years maybe, depends if they can get the data :S)

This is you own interpretation without knowing anything about how the work is organized in Majestic. What they call "Alpha" is far beyond the "Release" for the majority of add-on makers. If taking sweet time is working 12hrs a day then what is hard time ?

wow... I'm really sorry for what the others said. Personally I do not pressure developers to work faster and faster. I believe your Q400 will be excellent since I still fly your Antonov An-24RV : )

tbh I think the quality wings 787 is looking like a promising bomb, Im positive that PMDG wont be doing the 787 for a while so that will do me well :D

Tu-154? That would be my choice.
