Hi everyone,

Here is my first DX10 FSX Video thaII have posted. I hope you enjoy it and comment it pro or con. This video is Photo Real Hawaii and runs for 19:14 seconds long. All of the tweaks are from all the contributors on Avsim. Without thier help DX10 would not exist as it is today. Enjoy the flight around Honalulu, Hawaii.

Doesn't show too well in the stock YouTube size, but it was great viewed in full screen. The AA that you see in the stock size disappears in the full screen..

 

Man - you could use a TrackIR! :lol:

 

It looks really, really good! I might even look at that one myself.... Diamond Head is a Volcano! - and there are buildings inside the cone!

Hi Jim,

 

I talked to the Track iR rep and he advised me not to get a Track IR because I have Tri-Focac lens and it would not work for me unless I purchased a single vision lens. It's rough to get old! :Praying: Your correct about Diamond Head, Im sure I showed the buildings? Have to look again and make sure.

The scenery is called "Mega Scenery X Hawaii".the person that owns PC Aviator commissioned someone to do the Scenery for various parts of the world and this was one of them. It was photographed from the air.The disk cost me around $19.00 amd then I had a CD mastered and mailed to me. You can check it on thier website under pcaviator I don't want to violate any rules so I won't put thier url on this post, sorry. The only issue I have with Photo scenery is when your on the ground the textures don't look quite right. I hope I have answered your question?

Hi,

First of all I downloaded Steve Parsons shader for FSX. That took care of the runway and taxie ways that flashed on and off. Second, I downloaded the most recent NVidia Inspector and set it up as Paul J recomendations. Can you let me know what exact settings you would need as there are many depending what section you are referring to. Thanks very much for the kind word on my first DX10 video. :im Not Worthy: I would be more than happy to let you know what my settings are. I do know I am sure happy to finally see FSX DX10 involve into what it has become today. So let me know and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Ok, I hope I can squeeze some time this week and give DX10 a shot on my setup. My system is running beautifully at 30FPS per Word Not Allowed's guides but I always wondered what DX10 would bring to the table.

 

If going with DX10 preview mode, do I need to continue to have FSX as per Word Not Allowed's 30FPS locked guide? As for which part of inspector, I guess the settings for AA, AF and vsync. I can't wait to give this a shot! Thanks again, Les.

Hi Paul,

 

I checked the vid again and there are buildings in the vulano. My brother inlaw and his wife went to see Diamond Head and if you are in great shape you can go to the top of Diamond Head and from the pictures he brought home there are buildings in the cone. FSX only shows a few not to many in the cone. Now the reason the photo sceenery dosn't show them is I I have building bar turned and eliminating the buldings in the cone. I will turn the slider back to where they recomend for the scenery and take a look and let you know. This would be interesting if the photo scenery is correct?

I have had this Megascenery for years and its no secret I have a longtime fondness for the area to the point that long before MS Flight appeared I had lobbied both Aerosoft and Orbx for them to take a look at the area.

 

For years, Fs Dreamscapes promised the ultimate Oahu, and I corresponded back and forth off and on with the developer for quite some time until he kinda dropped from sight. (he sent me the link for the beta scenery of Oahu/Guam just before he went poof) Still, the parts of the island he completed are the best photo-scenery of Oahu I have ever found. One can only Imagine how nice it would be with buildings.

Here are the settings for Vsync:will sync your video cards with your monitor.

vsync: Forced on

Vsync tear control: standard

If you are experiencing tearing I would try this first. Just try and remember each system is different. I am running a i7-2600 / 10GB ram / 2-Nvidia 580 SLI with 3GB of video ram on each card. I will say I put them to their limits sometimes but I have never overclocked them. Now I did over clock the processor but not much and my Asus motherboard give me the software to do it, but would only allow me to go so far with the overcocking.It runs at 3.9mhz. I also have a cooller master case with 4 huge fans. My power supply is a TR2 RX 1200 WAT. When I set my 2 video cards up I had to wing it as no one had anything like mine to guide me. In inspector when you make the changes they wont destroy your system as long as you DO NOT GO TO THE VIDEO OVER CLOCKING!!! STAY OUT OF THERE!! YOU CAN DESTROY YOUR CARDS and in time you will!! YOU HAVE WARNED!!!! :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

 

If you have any further questions ask and if I can answere them I will and if I can't, I will tell you straight out. As far ad Kosters information I have not read anything on his recomendations, so I can not comment on them.
