American Airlines inspecting jets for loose seats

I looked at it more as a series of mechanical issues. I just think that If I was about to take a flight, it would definitely make me at least look at the prices on alternative airlines, because whatever the reason, I wouldn't want to be part whatever is happening.

The question is, is there really an unusual series of mechanical issues, or are they just being highlighted more than usual by the media?

I'm not certain it matters. Nowadays perception and reality walk hand in hand.

Well if you're going to be basing your airline choice off something it's better to do it off the reality rather than the perception.

Loose seats... Seems American Airlines isn't much better than Aeroflot was in the 90's, where my seat actually fell back.

Speaking of which I recommend anyone watching this documentary:

It clearly shows how safety standards and really everything in Russian aviation fell rapidly after collapse of Soviet Union as big part of Aeroflot was put into pieces, and those new small airlines often lacked everything.

It's because Aeroflot spilt in mini-flots. A lot of new airlines were born. The Russians still haven't fully recovered... Would be better if the Soviet Union wouldn't fall as corruption was lesser there.

Personally Aeroflot was much better in the USSR, and even on the 90's with these airplanes. Because today it's so expensive you rather take a western carrier to/from Russia. Airplane quality today is better, but at a cost of the ticket price.

Would be better if the Soviet Union wouldn't fall as corruption was lesser there.....really!

Yes, there's a lot of truth hidden of the Soviet Union, capitalist parties in the west made up bad propaganda over any communistic country there is...

The only way to judge a country, is by visiting this particular country (and stay there for more than a week).

Really.... I think my knowledge of the communist state is enough for me to decline your gracious invitation, Cuba, North Korea and others past or present.

P.S. I thought the documentary was very informative, good grief. The remarks from the passengers is typical of the stories I use to hear about decades ago. It looks like things haven't changed much past or present. I think if anyone is flying " western airlines" it would be for piece of mind and self preservation.

In all fairness to my fellow simmer from Bulgaria, I hope in time you will have a change of heart regarding the way things use to be, I don't know how old you are, I can't help but say, maybe you should try coming to a "western" nation, say the U.S. for example, and see if you like it after a year, or even a few days. I don't see many rushing to the exit once they have experienced our way of life. It's not perfect but we try.

Good luck w/ your future

I guess it's not an idea to fight what system is better... But Cuba isn't that bad, it's a rather nice country. North Korea is not as good as Cuba, but there is some really nice areas in central Pyongyang. I say this from experience, not from what I read on the news/television.

I am from Finland originally, but terrible things happened there (with the social services when I was younger), the whole story is not needed, but I have been in a lot of western countries and the prices are so high, the people are selfish and narrow minded. This has not anything to do with politics, it's just how people behave in some parts of Europe. But of course, everyone is not like that. I just ended up in Bulgaria but will soon go to Belarus.

There's a lot of lies and rumours about Russian aviation as well, flying with a Russian carrier is in no way unsafe. The planes today are modern but that doesn't mean much. Aeroflot Airbus 320 vs Air Berlin Airbus A320 is the same. No difference.

I believe people stay in the west because of the money, but I hear people in Bulgaria all the time returning from Sweden, because it's so "boring" there.

After all, I have a different viewpoint. Respect and honesty is more important for me than modernism/money. Not to mention how many cheating women there is in the west, just because they have the right to... Hillarious.

I wish....If this was the case then I would be having a lot more fun. Maybe you can tell me where all these cheating woman are? :LMAO:

There's a lot in Sweden, in the UK, some in Spain, I know many in Ireland, in USA (midwest)... Mostly capitals and even in Bulgarian capital Sofia. I'm sure there are more places. But a bar where most of them are "bored" wifes are near Puerto Marina in Benalmadena, costa del sol in Spain.

I don't see why you want to look for one of these. I'll rather look for a good girl to be married with.
