October 17, 201213 yr Just downloaded. First impressions, very detailed VC. It seems to fly well, though I am not a real world B200 pilot so my assessment isn't well qualified. A bit of a framerate hit in the VC on my system, which is a first for Carenado aircraft--they have always been great as far as framerates are concerned. But this is arguably the most complex aircraft they've made and I don't mind the fps tradeoff vs. the immersion factor. As with all Carenado aircraft, the texture detail is outstanding. I can almost feel myself sinking into those leather chairs in the cabin. A cool feature--optional winglets on all aircraft. You can turn them on or off as you see fit. Also the windshield wipers work--nice little touch. I've only had a few moments to look at the aircraft--screenshots will follow shortly. Regards, John
October 17, 201213 yr Author Ya know.. i noticed the frames a little low as well but attributed it to AS2012 and the high LOD I have my rex clouds set at.. One thing I'm not a fan of was the low sound of the engines in the VC.. I'd love an option (like the winglets) to change the type of headset I'm wearing so I can hear the engines better.. -Damien Damien Furtman Hovering Hellion
October 17, 201213 yr Is there any sound sets out these that will work with the engines? I know there was this one freeware B200 I had that sounded awesome, but I couldn't get over not having a VC Sure wish I remembered now. William Sequeira
October 17, 201213 yr We know, second thread already No the other one was about the FlightOne B200 (which led to Carenardo B200 discussions). I hope everyone stays on topic.... October 17, 201213 yr So how are the clickspots on the knobs especially? Anyone using it with RXP gauges? What about startup sequence and repeating sounds? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 18, 201213 yr I just finished a short hop from Napa to Reno. Can't tell you how it works with RXP since I don't have those gauges. I was pleased to see the fps smoothed out and stayed at my max of 30. Not sure why they were low in the beginning, but I won't complain. It made my final into Reno nice and smooth. I am about to post screenshots in the screenshots forum. Please be advised they'll look grainy, since I do my screen captures in 1024x768. For a shakedown cruise, I did not notice any major bugs, or minor ones for that matter. Many of the knobs have clickspots, some don't. I can't speak about engine startup. I shut them down (my default flight has engines running) and restarted them with the typical "Ctrl+E". Noticed little details while I roamed about the cabin--the cockpit door can be opened or closed, and the windows all have shades that can be drawn. The entire cabin is modeled, front to back. Even the horz. stab, minus the elevator, is modeled (don't quite know why, no one can see it from the cabin or cockpit). John
October 18, 201213 yr Sound level in the VC must be that King Air super soundproofing being simulated. Those passive attenuators bolted to the frame work wonders. Philip
October 18, 201213 yr Thanks for letting us know - off to buy it........ Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
October 18, 201213 yr Are the map and arc modes better simulated on the 200? They weren't on the C90. Also probably just integration for the RXP 530 right? Or is there an option for the 430 too? Thanks Lee
October 18, 201213 yr I guess what I meant by clickspots on the knobs was: How small are they? In previous releases the clickspots have been extremely tiny and sometimes impossible to get at. That was one of the issues with the Malibu that led me to return it. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 18, 201213 yr Lee, Only the 530 is optioned from what I can tell. Integrates fine with the HSI, but flight plan does not show up in the avedyne display or HSI map. Not bad considering the 530 has a large display anyway. I did notice some graphics issues with the VSI when in arc mode. The top half of the vsi disappeared, but corrected itself when toggling back and forth from arc to full. To use the RXP 530, you need to go into the aircraft folder within the FSX folder and run a little program. Funny that there is no documentation on this. At least that I found. Ryan, I didn't have any problems hitting the click spots, but I haven't spent much time with her. I am pleased with it. I have not had time to do a cold and dark start yet, but a quick hop in it at least brought back the wonderful memories of flying the Aeroworx bird. That was my all time favorite FS plane. I actually think the sounds are pretty good. The engine noise is there, but it doesn't drown out the ATC if you are into that. Graphically it looks great. Instruments are smooth even at 15-20 fps. It is a little bit heavier on frames than my other Carenado planes. Scott
