So any idea why it might apparently be conflicting with UTUSA?

Be sure to include the Terrain.cfg, It wont work without the terrain.cfg (Backup your original Terrain .cfg and place the one that came with Tthis Addon)

If you did that and its not working still its possible that eaither

1) UT has different road placements or

2) You may need to disable somethings in UT

Startup UT Main menu and try disabling certain things untill you see the car, Remember that you can always Re-enable these features

Please do know that this little Addon may or may not work for you I use to have Ultimate terrain but no am using FSCENEX foe FS2004 and it works flawlessly

You may want to give FSCENE X A try much more FPS friendly then Ultimate Terrain

I have the same problem with UTEurope....not in every place I'm able to see the traffic lights!

Just a word of caution here. I'm running FS9.1 on WinXP and UT. I just tried what you suggested and it caused FS9 not to run. I got a "Cannot Read" something or other error and the program terminated. I went and substituted original files and same thing happened. I had to reinstall my computer from an image created a day ago and all is now well. I won't be trying again. I'm going to leave well enough alone. I'm beginning to learn in my advanced age, that once you have things working well,..... If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Not sure what may have caused that, Many people including me are using this nifty ad-don and our sims are running fine.

But its possible that maybe there was a previous ad-don you may have that may have conflicted with the above ad-don I am sorry to hear you had to go through that (Its a good thing you were able to perform a quick restore) B)

UT and Fscene do totally different things. Fscene is for ground textures, UT is for roads, coastlines, and some landclass, etc.

Anyway, I'll give your suggestions a try here in a bit.

I'm still a bit wary of installing it, just in case everything goes pear-shaped..

So, in the mean time I will continue to use "Bernd's Road Textures_v1", which shows stationary "traffic" on most of the major roads. At least it adds the impression of living roads!

It works for both default and UT road systems.

Paul...Meep-meep!... :Bug: ...!

I just tried with UT Europe, and those highways aren't blacked out/affected at all. Just the US ones. Hmm.

Okay, wow. False alarm guys. The black parts aren't highways, they are railroads. :LMAO: Don't I feel like a doofus.

Anyhow, I still don't see any moving traffic in UT areas, but that's fine. I'm fine with the UT areas without traffic so long as the street lights are still there, and I like how this addon enhances the non-UT world.

 Hi all! iv`e just installed road traffic and it works just fine on my rig, made backup folder just in case but the lights are evident rolling down the roads nice distraction! :yahoo:

By manually adding all the custom [autogen x.x.x] entries for the vehicles to my terrain.cfg and dropping the .bgl somewhere in an active scenery folder, I got some traffic on my UT USA roads. Not bad!

I'm not quite sure what got changed in the supplied default.xml though.

Might have been worth adding one or two short comments to it...
