November 16, 201213 yr When I'm in FSX and all loaded, and I click on my addon tab, and try to activate ACCUFEEL or DISCOVER or any addon, FSX crashes for me when using REX Essential Plus. Doesn't happen with ASE. Have any of you noticed this? I love REX weather now, and it's unfortunate that this is happening. Is it my system or does it happen to you too? Stan
November 16, 201213 yr Hi Stan, If FSX is crashing when you do this, you need to download and run App Crash View - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html. Then copy and paste the info in the lower pane to this post so we can see what caused the crash. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 17, 201213 yr I have been getting lots of appcrash 0xc0005 errors lately as well possible cilprits are 1.Latest Rex 2. Latest FsCaptain 3. Latest As2012 Anyway i have decided to upgrade to 12 gig ram from 6gig. Also my memory during seems generally looks like this In Use = 3.4Gig Available = 2.4 gig cached stuff Free = 300 meg, sometimes even as low as 10. Looks like minmum ram for fsx + addons should be 8gig, and not 6gig anymore. Tools like rex, as2012, and fscaptain are now using more ram than they used to.
November 17, 201213 yr Some one can correct me on this fsx is a 32 bit o/s system and only ulitlises 4 g of ram only. Things that can help you is to upgrade to a 64 bit o/s system , decent graphics card, and turn down your sliders in fsx I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

November 27, 201213 yr FSX addons use more memory this days than they used to, may need to check how much ram you using when FSX is fully running, just to make sure it not too close to max. The closer it is to max , the slower and more likely to crash. Just updated my ram from 6gig to 12gig. Wanted 8gig, but got 12gig at a bargain. Was'nt maxing at 6gig, but getting close. Some of those FSX addons are not from very profressional asoftware house, so the code probably leaks memory, 12gig of ram increases the probability that you would have landed, taxi to gate, and exit FSX before Appcrash.
June 11, 201312 yr I have the same problem....during Long flights (after 3 hours of flight usual crash). June 11, 201312 yr @chrispol, try this: - Update FSUIPC here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ - Put vista UIAutomationcore.dll in your main FSX folder, don't try to add it to registry or something like that, nothing - just put it there. This is the right version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/adxsx0mxb6wztil/UIAutomationCore.rar I suspect some OOM errors, this si how to set things for long haul flights, becouse you said you do more then 3h flights: - apply this patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947246 - in fsx.cfg set texture_max_load to 2048, not higher. If you have this at default 1024, you can leave it like that. Check also LOD_RADIUS, default is 4.5 and i would leave that value if you do long haul flights. Don't set this more then 6.5 anyway. If you have REX, select DXT optimized clouds. Before you start new flight, get used to disable all scenery that you are not going to use for the next flight - especially all payware airports / sceneries - check your DLL.XML and fix it if necesary: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a92/dllxml-information-and-troubleshooting.aspx If CTD still happens afetr this, try to apply all my remaining recomandation from this thread, post nr.4: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/410612-uninstall-fsx/#entry2691334 Zeljko Budovic

I ll try and the other solutions,....Thank you very much for your reply.
June 11, 201312 yr Can you post some info about your system? CPU, GPU, RAM and operating system? I think that steps about OOM errors will help. Just to be sure: UIAutomationcore.dll to fix menu freeze in fsx, don't need to be installed, registered or something like that. Just copy and paste to FSX main folder. Zeljko Budovic

June 11, 201312 yr I wanted to be sure, some of them are for windows 7 / 64bit only. It's ok, you can apply all that settings i posted. I'd like to add this one too: - right click on fsx.exe, go to compatibility tab and click on "change settings for all users", and in "compatibility for all users" window - check only "disable visual themes" and "disable desktop composition". After that click on apply, ok, apply and ok untill you clear all windows - go to the control Panel, "appearance and personalization" and select "Personalization". On the left hand side click on the "Change mouse pointers". In the "Pointers" tab, under "Scheme" select (None), under "customize" select "Normal Select" and press apply and ok. Zeljko Budovic
