November 19, 201213 yr Hello guys, I've been going back and forth between FSX and FS9. I've decided to use FS9 for commercial jets because I'm very dissapointed with my FSX performance using complex aircrafts. I want to get the ifly 737 for FS9 and I was wondering if anybody can tell me what kind of fps hit I can expect? The reason I'm asking is because I already own the ifly 737 on FSX and it is by far the worst on fps. My PMDG MD-11X runs better than the ifly. It's so bad that I've only done one flight on it and gave up. Now I want to try the FS9 version. I'm just hoping it's more fps friendly compared to the FSX version. Can anybody who own the ifly share their experience. Thanks Nature Boy
November 19, 201213 yr As you know, everyone's experience is different, but you can see my specs, and the ifly runs like a dream for me. I use the latest iFly SPs and use UK2000/Fly Tampa/Aerosoft. etc. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
November 19, 201213 yr Hi there, I had the same concerns as you a couple of weeks ago and somebody on another forum said that through flight1 it is possible for a refund within 30 days (perhaps someone can confirm that "low fps" is a valid reason for a refund, but anyway...) so I took the plunge. I have an M11x R2 (i7 processor) and it runs on fs9 (stock scenery) at a good 50+fps (2d cockpit). When I'm in the air in the vc it can drop to 15fps in clouds. I also installed uk2000 stansted extreme scenery and after locking the fps at 26 the ifly still stays there in the 2d cockpit (I haven't seen the 3d figures yet but I'm mostly in the 2d anyway). I had just usable fps in fsx and I'm glad and surprised it worked out so well for me in fs9 given that the M11x isn't the worlds best simming computer, bless it's little cotton socks. Good luck whichever way you choose to go! G
November 19, 201213 yr Author Gavin, Thanks. Looks like out vid card is similar (I have the non oc 560) but I'm sure your pricessor is better. But great to hear it runs very well on your rig. I'm going to give it a shot. Hope it runs well on mine. I can fly the FS9 version of PMDG MD-11 with all graphics maxed out (no shadows) and Ultimate Traffic at 100% without a problem. Geeza, Thanks for your input. I fly using the VC all the time. It's great to hear your getting better results in FS9. I'm going to purchase it next week when I take my vacation from work. I'm so desperate for a good 737. I have the FeelThere/Wilco 737 PIC and it has the worst problem. When I engage autopilot and change my heading, the VC yoke and ailerons goes completely nuts. I can't find a fix for it :(. I think I will start a new thread on it. Maybe someone has a fix by now. Nature Boy
November 20, 201213 yr My PC is dual core running @3.16 and my iFly runs satisfactorily with ALL the trimmings. You should be delighted.
November 20, 201213 yr I have it and it runs really well, except at FSdreamteam KLAX. So, I lowered the refresh rate and it is OK now. It is the best FS9 plane. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
November 20, 201213 yr iFly for FS9 rocks. I understand there is a discount for owners of the FSX version, but I'm not sure. Check in the support forums. What sort of FPS are you getting? Quite often a bad install can result in low FPS. This is covered within the iFly forum. Have you posted there? Cheers Steve Hall
