November 24, 201213 yr Hello, i want a new pc for the FSX. But which system and prozessor is good for the fsx? Can you help me please? Thanks P.S: I see the Alienware Aurora, ist that good?
November 24, 201213 yr Don't buy anything from Alienware, just Dell's with cheap lipstick on them. If you are handy with a screwdriver then I reccomed building one yourself. Plenty of self help PC building videos on youtube for guidance. Failing that find someone close to you that you can trust, give them a budget and have them build it for you.
November 24, 201213 yr There's numerous threads on what PC specs to buy each and every week (sometimes every day for that matter), systems haven't changed much in the past 6 months, search these forums over the past 10 weeks and you'll find a pretty general consensus. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

November 24, 201213 yr The 2 most important things that an FSX PC needs are: 1. An overclocked Intel CPU with as much Ghz as possible: it will NEVER be enough. 2. Word Not Allowed's 'Hard and Software Guide'. With kind regards, Bart S.
November 25, 201213 yr Indeed, an Intel CPU (NEVER AMD) and crank it up as high as it can safely go, then couple it with the fastest memory you can afford. I bought an ASUS P9X79 Deluxe motherboard, stuck and Intel i7 on it and some G.Skil 2133 memory, and its running at 4.8GHz stable, @ 36deg idle, 48deg under FSX load, but it is all water cooled. Prioritise your needs if its just for FSX Intel CPU, NVidea GPU, and some awesome cooling is what you will essentially need. But, read Kostas guide first, and spend a few days reading over these forums for the same question :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
November 25, 201213 yr I agree with building your own. I never thought I could do it until I did. Not really that hard. I bought a Lian Li case that uses cam locks for installing most components, I barely needed a screw driver. Just do some research and take your time. Regarding specs, mine are still pretty good but it has been a couple years. Maybe get the GTX 680 instead of 580 and ivy bridge instead of sandybridge (and the associated P77 motherboard). I haven't really kept up on hardware changes that much recently. Keep searching and learning! --Don Don Polidori
November 25, 201213 yr To have a constant frame rate of 30 in FSX, with lots od addons, all sliders maxed (yes also Light Bloom and all traffic, planes and cars) in heavy clouded stormy weather, at or above very heavy dense scenery with a plane like the PMDG 737 NGX, just should have a CPU with a clockspeed of AT LEAST 8 Ghz. So as this won't be available in the first years enjoy your Word Not Allowed tuned FSX with it's 20 to 30 frames until we all have something like P3D 2.0 (?) or maybe a new player on the market .... ^_^ With kind regards, Bart S.
