November 24, 201213 yr Hi all. I am thinking of making the purchased of the GO Flight GF-TQ6-ADV Throttle. http://www.goflightinc.com/products/gf-tq6-adv-advanced-throttle-quadrant-2 Seems like it is on sale right now, over $100 under the normal price. I can't find any reviews on it anywhere online. Anyone here have it? I plan on using it for the NGX of course but also any of my any jets from the BAe-146 to the DC-9. I am just trying to get a feel to its overall quality and if it is simple to set up in FSX. Right now I use an old Satiek X45 Throttle which is nice because it is big and has a decent about of friction but It sure would be nice to have spoiler and flap levers along with reverse thrust. Any input on this product is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Steven Herzberg, "I rather be flying"

November 25, 201213 yr I think Im going to buy this thing, it looks awesome, it will work with EVERY plane right via FSUIPC? Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
November 26, 201213 yr Ok, I just ordered this!!!! I'll hopefully get it this week and let you guys know what its like. I love that it has a TOGA, A/T Disco, Reverse, Flaps and Spoilers....will make my flying a lot easier! November 26, 201213 yr I'd like to know if this TQ uses hall effect sensors or just regular pots. Alex Bart
November 26, 201213 yr Hi. After reading http://www.avsim.com...48/goflight.htm I have also decided to go for it. I realise that this review is for the TQ6 rather than the TQ6-ADV but it nevertheless gives me a bit of confidence in the expected quality. Les
November 26, 201213 yr Steven, please contact me via Email. I sent an email just to let you know. Thank's Fabrizio
November 27, 201213 yr Doesn't sound good  One thing I dont get is, how can you have a TOGA button on a non-motorised TQ? You push it, engines climb to max, then what? Your actual throttle lever is still where you left it, not at max, so do you suddenly get a drop off where the TOGA function switches off or something else? Richard... November 27, 201213 yr Ah haaaa, so it stays at whatever the A/T is set to until switched off... Nice.. Look forward to hearing what the other 2 guys make of it.. Thx Word Not Allowed Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
December 21, 201213 yr OK. Have now received it after 3 weeks. 1) Beware of additional charge of 20% VAT and clearance charge of £8 when importing into UK. 2) Minor problem with packing. The plastic bag containing screws etc was split resulting in temporary loss of a small screw which was later found inside main unit where it had lodged. 3) Reverser switch on throttle 2 inoperative. After reassembling it is now OK. Possibly due to fine break where wire is soldered to PCB. 4) I would suggest using FSUIPC to assign buttons and axes. I had a problem getting the buttons to work using the supplied user interface. 5) Go Flight website is undergoing reorganisation so finding the supporting files is a little chaotic. 6) There is an excellent pdf explaining how to configure the unit for use with the PMDG 737-NGX using FSUIPC 7) The supplied detent strip for the flap positions is not fit for purpose. I think it was made for the 747 as it has 6 detents not 9! I spent a few days designing and making one which works just fine. see http://goflight.vani...-tq6-adv#latest Hopefully Go Flight will correct this and issue the proper one to all purchasers to date. 8) There is no provision on the PCB for additional wiring. There is no obvious upgrade route to utilise the 2 unused slots for 4 engine jets. Don't think about getting 2 additional throttle handles as there is not sufficient room to fit them. 9) The support is excellent; All my queries were replied to within 24 hours. I'll leave you to assess whether the price is worth paying. Keep the brown down and the blue up! Les
December 22, 201213 yr I have the older GF-TQ6 version but construction does not seem much different from the ADF version. I was a bit disappointed when I received it. It looks a lot more substantial in it's product photos. In real life it feels fairly light weight. The handles are pretty springy side to side and tend to scrape on the housing if you are not careful. FSUICP calibrates it much better than Windows. Price seems hard to justify compared say to a Throtletek 737. It certainly wins in being able to be used with virtually any aircraft though. gb. YSSY. December 22, 201213 yr How would one dock the quadrant to your desk? Does it have a clamp similar to the Saitek quadrant?
December 22, 201213 yr Word Not Allowed Handle stability it good; There is no hint of the large throttle handles being loose in their holders. Haven't used differential thrust yet for taxiing but with individual throttles this is now possible. There are no projections which can snag when the handles pass each other. Calibration in windows is normal with full scale movement of the axes indicators. Make sure you have the latest driver however. gboz. The external appearance is substantially the same between the basic and adv versions. However internally they are very different. The basic version has connectors built in to accept the button wiring from the B737 GF-THR handles(see https://dl.dropbox.c...R_vPOH_v2_2.pdf) whereas the ADV version has these wires directly soldered to the PCB. This means that the basic unit is perhaps the one to get if you envisage modifying to control 4 engines. (If goflight produce the handles for a 747 for instance) The plastic sleeves covering the throttle handle shafts make contact with the sides of their slots which I found gave rise to a slight jerky movement. The application of a silicone spray makes the movement nice and smooth. dukebe60 I agree that the unit is a little lightweight and unbalanced but bear in mind that it is designed to be fitted into a cockpit housing. There are no clamps to fit to a desktop but Goflight supply 2 heavy duty velcro strips which do a good job of fixing it to any surface without screws. Merry Christmas Les
December 23, 201213 yr Really? The unit I got and returned had IMO very poor handle stability, even compared to Saitek TQs. Compared to PFC stuff, I feel I could break the handles on GF unit. Huge handles, small holders. Doesn't work well in the physics department. I used differential thrust since I got my Saiteks. Try it and you'll see what I mean. Word Not Allowed I just got mine 2nd TQ6 in the mail because my last one was junk when it arrived at my house and I too think the Handles need to feel tighter or something. I really like the TQ6 but I don't think they are worth paying $599 or whatever full price, I got a decent deal on mine so thats why I got them.
