November 24, 201213 yr I just got a new computer and I want to transfer the ngx to that computer, how can I do that? Thanks.
November 25, 201213 yr You can't. but an easy way is using your actual HD in the new computer as principal ahrd disk, and reinstall drivers,etc. Israel D' Oleo Ochoa
November 25, 201213 yr You can actually. But you will need your original installer, and may need to talk to PMDG support (ticket) if you have installed the NGX a few times. When I say you need the original installer, I generally mean on an external HDD or CD or something like that so you can put it on the new machine (unless you have extended download service). So make sure you have a backup of the Installer file on a device that isn't the main computer's internal HDD. I have mine backed up on both an external HDD, and a CD. Remember though your licence agreement sais you can only have 1 installed at a time (ie: not both computers at the same time.) If it's an upgrade and your "old" computer is going to dissapear/no longer be your FS comptuer, then that's fine. (I did this myself). If you do this 3? times you will need a reactivation of the installer protection key. Only a support ticket can fix this. I ran into this by having problems with my original PC for which I ended up reinstalling FSX/NGX a few time. Then later purchased a new computer and had run out of installs (Product has exceeded bla bla) message. Just had to contact PMDG on the support ticket and they got back to me in a few hours to tell me my product key had been reset and that I could reinstall again. November 25, 201213 yr When my old computer died I bought a couple of external hard drive enclosures and mounted the old hard drives in those. It made it easy to retrieve files. Larry Hookins Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

August 1, 201411 yr I am going to purchase a new computer because my current one is on its last leg and I have FSX with many add ons and and God knows how many tweeks and trouble shooting additions to my files over the years. it looks like it is going to be a nightmare to get it all on the new computer. I have a back up Western Digital external hard drive where I back up all my files and I also have Carbonite. Would I be able to retrieve FSX and all my add ons through those two, or will licensing be an issue with the FSX add ons? Cray Foley

Weather or not you have activations left is another story. Which can be sorted out in any case. I believe, in my years of IT experience, it would most likely be better to reinstall all together. It would eliminate any type of weird issues, crashes etc. Also the big word, PERMISSIONS problems. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
August 26, 201411 yr Should I reinstall FSX on the new computer first? I don't think I understand your question. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
August 26, 201411 yr Your best bet is to install everything on the new computer from scratch. Will take a little longer but will save you time n the long run with all the niggles you will end up with. New faster computer, why bog it down from the start with old overweight installations? Start fresh and know that your PC is optimally set up. For all your purchases, you will be able to activate on a fresh install. Any problems, just contact the support desk for assistance. August 27, 201411 yr Should I reinstall FSX on the new computer first? Yes you have to other wise when you try to install addons, the installer tries to find where your fsx is installed I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
September 6, 201411 yr I purchased a new computer and transferred most files over, but I found out I need my activation key for PMSG 737, which I don't have since I purchased the PMDG 737 aircraft about 2 years ago as a download purchase, not a CD. Is there anyway I can obtain the key? I really hate to have to repurchase the 737. I cannot find any site to obtain it. My PMDG 747 pulls up in FSX though. Cray Foley
