December 4, 201213 yr Hey there, I finally purchased OpusFSX last night after spending a number of weeks convincing myself that I didn't need it and that REX E+ and ASE would suffice as my weather generation engines. However after using the demo version for a few trips it convinced me that OpusFSX looked more realistic than the other programs so I bought it. So far I haven't noticed any major issues. There are a few stutters when weather appears to be generated but apart from that the immersion factor is impressive. REX textures and OpusFSX are a great combination. Thanks for a fine program and your continued interest in developing it. Now I just need to work out how to use this head movement stuff! Adam
December 7, 201213 yr Hello Squawkident, I have yet to get familiar about this OpusFSX. My current weather engine is ASE; simple and easy to use. I dumped REX a year ago; too long to load, clunky flight plans, and too complex to operate. Quite frankly, I just a decent weather system: start it and forget it. I am looking at this product because of its camera system. Had EZdok on the old rig but I am getting out of fuel re-installing the bugger. Any comments on OpusFSX cameras? Mario Bergeron
December 7, 201213 yr Mario, I too have REX and AS2012. Both very good pieces of software, but I have found OPUS to give me the most realistic representation of Real World weather so far. It is also very simple to set up and use.I also have used EZDOK and yes it is very good although can be fiddly to set up. I now use OPUS cameras because they work straight away in P3D which (for me) wasn't the case with EZDOK. They are quite easy to set up and work well. The only disadvantage is that you can't adjust them whilst actually flying - which you can do with EZDOK. However, Stephen and Cheryl are, I believe , working on that one and I find I can cope without that facility quite readily. I highly recommend OPUS to you. Best wishes Pete
December 8, 201213 yr Having tried the camera functions of Opus, but the weather depiction is Scccaryyy. Try the demo.
December 8, 201213 yr I will look at it. At the present time, I just want a camera system that will replace EZdok. No comm between EZdok and TrackIR, both work separately but not together. It used to on my previous rig. Mario Bergeron
December 9, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Mario If you are going to try our cameras then use the EZCA utility to tidy up the config files first, and follow the instructions in our Getting Started guide for the TrackIR setup. Regards Cheryl

Hi Mario, Not had much experience with the cameras as yet. Have been trying to set up the dynamic head movement feature. Not got around to mapping cameras. I have it mainly for the weather engine which is excellent. Certainly more realistic graphically than any other weather engine program I've tried. Regards Adam
December 9, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Chaps Perhaps I should mention that DHM is associated with the camera views so in order to see DHM effects you add a camera and select the DHM checkbox, then when you subsequently display the camera in flight you will see the DHM. Regards Cheryl
December 11, 201213 yr Stephen and Cheryl, Have just purchased this software and would like to say it is brilliant. Over the years I have been a flight simmer there have been times when I have finished a flight and just said WOW! My first flight with your weather (a foggy arrival into Rwy 27 EGNX) produced such a reaction. I know, like the others on this thread, that once I get my old head around the cameras and especially the DHM effect I will have other "WOW" experiences! Congrats Bill
December 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member Many thanks Bill, nice of you to take the time to comment, but there's plenty more to come yet, First please upgrade to Release Version 2.70.6 if you haven't already done so. We have also just posted two new betas on our website (today) ready for when you get your head around the camera editing ... OpusFSX Beta Version 2.70.7 introduces the Manual Ordering of Camera Views using up and down arrow keys within the Select Camera View dialog. OpusFSX Beta Version 2.70.8 changes all distances, apart from visibility, within the weather report windows which are now displayed in both km and nautical miles (nm). Previously they were all displayed in km and statute miles. The LWE also ensures the METARs are no more than 5 minutes out of date for your specified Destination and Alternate airfields. Finally, this beta includes the initial prototype of the 'Bump Aircraft' DHM option which when airborne will bump the aircraft in unison with the turbulent motions. The Turbulent Motion or Turbulent Bump options must be enabled for the effects to be seen. Best Regards Stephen

Regards Cheryl Hello Cheryl, Just started to read your pdf guides. It's Xmas time, thus harder to find time for the sim! I am not sure what you mean by "using the EZCA utility to tidy up the config files". Thanks for a prompt reply, I find your software quite interesting, it would fit my sim setup perfectly. December 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi It is an EZCA config utility but I don't have EZCA so i'm not sure where it is exactly or what it is called. Regards Cheryl
December 11, 201213 yr Cheryl, Got it, the EZdok Config Utility is a little applet that installs or removes the EZdok camera sections in the aircraft.cfg files. We'll do. Mario Bergeron
