The activation of the fulfillment is denied by the activation policy because max extra activations exceeded

Help,

I'm trying to install my PMDG_737_8900_NGX on Windows 8, after using the software on my old desktop with Windows 7.

When I'm trying to activate the software, I'm getting the message: "The activation of the fulfillment is denied by the activation policy because max extra activations exceeded. [incident#9830-4513921]

Is there anyone who is able to inform me what to do?

Thanks,

Haiko de Groot

I am having exactly the same problem, but when I mention Windows 8 to 'support' the reaction was that we do not support Windows 8. So I re-install Windows 7 and get the same message! Let me know who you contacted so I can get my activation resolved please. I think I must be speaking to the wrong people at PMDG.

If it really is the same message then it should not make a difference if you use Win8 or 7, just ask them nicely to reset your counter ;)

I'll never understand why software companies (and there are many) feel the need to punish their paying customers. You know who's enjoying their PMDG product right now? Some software pirate who downloaded it off a bittorrent site.

Know who's NOT enjoying his PMDG product... The paying customer who is sitting here waiting for his ticket to be "processed"...

Frustrating...

I wonder why add on software cannot be tied to your motherboard, similar to an OEM version of windows. This way you would only have to get your licence re activated if you change your motherboard or your PC, not every time you exceed your reinstalls. In some cases this is every time you reinstall, like RC4.

Not a software expert, so I guess I could be talking out of my hat, but just a thought,

Another system I like is where you are "refunded" your activation when you properly uninstall the product. That way you aren't punished for uninstalling/reinstalling a lot (which we all know is something we have to deal with sometimes when it comes to FSX and its many addons)
