It still is a beautiful plane. It is a shame they don't fly anymore.

Very nice shot. Thanks for posting.

Hi all,

Nice shots, I like the second one

Although Concorde was an amazing aircraft, it's one I have always avoided in flight sim, not sure why, maybe I didn't feel we did it justice, some wonders are best left wonders!. I guess your flying the FlightSimLabs Concorde? Do you think I am missing out on something wonderful in FSX?

Hi, Dave, and thanks for the reply!

This is indeed the Concorde from FSLabs, and she is a treat to fly. She has an amazing number of systems simulated, and yes - you are missing out :) If you love the Concorde, and/or you simply feel up for a challenge, you should get it. It will give you countless hours of enjoyment.

Hi Andreas,

mmmm Your tempting me, lol. I've read it's very good, system wise, which is always a preference when I'm looking to buy an aircraft!

What's it like for fps and slowing your pc down with all those systems it has? I run an i3 with fsx, utx, gex and rex essentials and get reasonable fps of 20 over europe. At present over the pacific in the MD11 cloudy and getting 29fps so I know it depends where you are. mmmm I wonder if you have any PMDG aircraft as that's what I tend to use as a bench mark?

Happy flying,

It's not easy for me to say, Dave, because I dont worry about FPS. I'm interested in fluidity (those two arent always the same thing). I'm still trying to find the "sweet spot" for my rig (i7 960 3.1 @4.2, gtx 690). What I can say is that the concorde is my most intensive addon hands down. By the sound of it, you will strugle with it on your rig. They do have a "lower quality" installation option, so that might save you?

Besides, it's all about tweaking, right? I feel I spend twice as much time tweaking as flying now and again.

Hi Andreas,

Your dead right, getting the best from FSX is more about trying one thing at a time and if it doesn't work then go back and try something else! I'm very happy with the way FSX runs on my set up especially when alot here seem to be complaining about there much more powerful set ups running slowly. Yesterday I did 7 1/2 hrs in the PMDG MD11 from Honolulu to Mexico City with REX set on max and real world weather, and FSX ran as sweet as a nut, even over the land when it was getting dark, which usually would slow things down a little! Ok the frames per second weren't huge at the end of the flight but the image was smooth, which as you say is what is most important!

I might have to put the Flightsim labs Concorde on a future wish list, as there are a few aircraft already there first lol, PMDG 777 while I try to say I won't buy it, I know I will eventually and their DC6 too, Just Flight are doing a Tristar too, which no doubt will come out first, PMDG take forever! I guess it depends if I will actually use Concorde enough to warrant buying it? Such dilemma's we face!!

Anyway Happy Flying,

Regards,

Happy Flying,

Some of my Norwegian fellows laugh at me because I dont fly "realistic". I'm a kind of person that could take the 747 on a 40 minute hop from one airport to another. "Where's the realism in that?" they might ask. Well, I love the 747, and I hate long haul flights. If I were to only fly realistic flights, I wouldnt be doing much flying at all. The same again with the Concorde; I even have a SAS livery for it which I love to surprise ATC with. "Center, good evening! Scandinavian Concorde 001 with you, passing FL150 for 210". "Scandinavian Concorde 1, verify you want FL 600 for cruise..?". Not very realistic, but I think it brings out a smile on both parts :)

And since I hate long hauls, the Concorde is a great compromise in that regard: I cut the travel time in half!
